Medtronic’s Endoscopy business is dedicated to advancing gastrointestinal care through innovative, minimally invasive technologies that help physicians diagnose and treat disease earlier and more effectively. Within this business, PillCam capsule endoscopy is transforming the way clinicians visualize and evaluate the gastrointestinal tract - unlocking diagnostic insight through a simple, patient‑friendly technology that expands access to care and enables earlier detection of disease. Each PillCam capsule contains a miniature camera(s) that travels naturally through the GI tract, capturing thousands of images that provide physicians with critical diagnostic insight. As the largest portfolio within the Endoscopy business, PillCam plays a critical role in advancing innovation, expanding clinical impact, and driving future growth. The Principal Global Upstream Product Manager will lead the long-term strategy for the PillCam franchise, translating clinical insights, customer needs, and market opportunities into differentiated product strategies and platform roadmaps. This role drives innovation in next-generation capsule endoscopy, including advanced imaging, AI-enabled analysis, and new clinical applications that expand how physicians diagnose gastrointestinal disease.

Key Responsibilities

Upstream Product and Portfolio Strategy Define the long‑term product vision and strategic direction for the franchise Shape product roadmap priorities based on customer insights, clinical evidence, and market dynamics Develop portfolio segmentation, use cases, and value propositions across GI diagnostic pathways Voice of Customer and Market Insights Lead global voice‑of‑customer initiatives across clinicians, health systems, and key stakeholders Translate unmet needs into clear product requirements and differentiated product concepts Monitor competitive activity, emerging technologies, and regulatory trends to inform product strategy Cross‑Functional Product Development Leadership Partner with cross-functional Core teams to define product requirements and development priorities Support business cases and investment decisions for new products and platform enhancements Collaborate with downstream marketing teams to align product strategy with commercialization planning Clinical and Evidence Strategy Partner with Medical Affairs to shape clinical evidence strategies and study priorities Ensure clinical value, reimbursement considerations, and economic impact are reflected in product strategy Must Have: Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree required Minimum of 10 years of experience in upstream product management, product marketing, or strategy roles OR Advanced degree with 8 years of experience in upstream product management, product marketing, or strategy roles Nice to Have Experience leading upstream product strategy for medical technologies or medical devices Experience influencing product roadmap and investment decisions in a matrixed organization Experience with capsule endoscopy, imaging technologies, or AI‑enabled diagnostics Understanding of gastroenterology clinical workflows and diagnostic pathways Experience working closely with R&D, Medical Affairs, and global commercial teams MBA or advanced degree in business, engineering, or life sciences For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required. Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$160,800.00 - $241,200.00 This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP). The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
