Engineer-in-Training/Designer – Roadway Design
Howard Stein Hudson is a company dedicated to improving infrastructure through collaboration and professional development. They are seeking an Engineer-in-Training/Designer to join their Roadway Design team, responsible for technical content and project management tasks related to public infrastructure roadway projects.
Responsibilities
- Development of design plans
- Technical specifications
- Cost estimates for public bidding
- Providing support and guidance for junior staff
- Client and sub-consultant management and coordination
- Tracking of project budgets
- Delegation of work tasks to supporting staff
- Basic knowledge of survey data collection
- Land rights
- Regulatory permitting
Skills
- Bachelor's Degree – Civil Engineering
- Relevant internship or 1-4 years' experience of progressive responsibility in Civil Engineering. Recent grads considered
- Ability to work in team environment as an individual contributor
- Organized and able to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently across multiple projects and deliverables
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to utilize critical thinking, judgment, and experience to define, analyze, and resolve issues
- EIT preferred
- Experience with AutoCAD and AutoTurn preferred
- Experience with MassDOT standards and deliverables a plus
