If you have been searching for a legitimate, entry-level remote opportunity that will allow you to develop real-world skills in data analytics, data integration, and business intelligence, your search ends here.

Position Summary

As an Entry-Level Big Data Analyst working remotely for arenaflex, you will play an important role in supporting our Data Science, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence teams. You will assist in managing the full life cycle of data — from acquisition and integration to analysis and reporting — across a variety of systems, volumes, and data types. This is an intermediate-level consulting role that partners with business leaders, analysts, and data scientists throughout the organization to enable accurate model deployment, monitor data integrity, and identify opportunities to improve how information flows through our business.

You will help translate complex business questions into clear data requirements, support the development of self-service data assets, and contribute to the ongoing enhancement of arenaflex’s data technology center and network. This is a rare opportunity to enter the data analytics field with a company that invests in your growth, provides hands-on training, and encourages you to expand your technical skill set continuously. If you are excited by the idea of helping to shape the future of data at a dynamic, customer-focused organization, arenaflex wants to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

Working remotely from your home office, you will be responsible for a wide range of data-focused activities, including but not limited to:

  • Data Integration Support: Assist in driving complex self-service data integration projects that bring together information from disparate sources, making data readily available to business clients such as data scientists, analysts, and analytic users across the organization.
  • Methodology and Tool Application: Help drive small, informal teams to apply advanced data integration methodologies and tools to large data sets, creating solutions that can be used in descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Drive interaction with functional leaders across multiple concurrent projects, learning to communicate effectively with stakeholders from different departments and backgrounds.
  • Solution Communication: Support the articulation and presentation of analytical solutions and options to both technical and non-technical audiences, building your confidence as a data storyteller.
  • Subject Matter Expertise Development: Serve as a growing subject matter expert for specific data assets, monitoring the ongoing effectiveness of those assets as they are used by business clients in self-service environments.
  • Data Technology Center Support: Contribute to the continuous improvement of arenaflex’s data technology hub, learning modern data architectures, cloud platforms, and integration patterns along the way.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other job-related responsibilities as directed by your Team Leaders and mentors.

Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies We Are Looking For

You do not need years of professional experience to thrive in this role. We are looking for individuals with strong foundational abilities, an eagerness to learn, and a genuine interest in data. Specifically, successful candidates will demonstrate:

  • Reasoning and Problem-Solving: Intermediate knowledge of both inductive and deductive reasoning, with the ability to approach challenges with structured problem-solving techniques.
  • Analytical Thinking: Intermediate understanding of how to evaluate and apply appropriate data analytics and statistical methods to address common business problems.
  • Data Acquisition Skills: Basic to intermediate familiarity with obtaining and ingesting data from both relational (SQL) and non-relational (NoSQL) databases. Full training will be provided.
  • Data Processing Fundamentals: Foundational understanding of integrating, storing, and processing large volumes of data essential for analysis and modeling.
  • Programming Curiosity: Willingness to learn at least one data programming language and open-source tool. Prior exposure (even from coursework or personal projects) is a plus.
  • Business Intelligence Interest: Interest in data integration and business intelligence tools, with a desire to develop hands-on proficiency over time.
  • Technical Architecture Awareness: Eagerness to learn about modern technology systems and architectures used to develop and maintain self-service data assets.
  • Critical Thinking and Project Management: Strong critical thinking skills, organizational ability, and a willingness to grow your project management capabilities.
  • Communication Excellence: Ability to communicate in an engaging, clear manner, with strong verbal and written communication skills suitable for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adjust effectively to a wide variety of situations, modifying your approach or techniques as needed to meet objectives efficiently.

Education and Experience Requirements

Required Education

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, Statistics, or a closely related field of study; or equivalent advanced-level experience gained through bootcamps, certifications, military service, or substantial self-directed learning.

Preferred Experience

While no professional experience is required, candidates with the following will stand out:

  • Experience (academic, internship, or personal project) in data analysis, advanced analytics, data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, or optimization projects.
  • Familiarity with data pipelines, data engineering concepts, or relevant programming.
  • Experience creating visualizations and delivering presentations.
  • A track record of solving ambiguous or complex problems through systems thinking.
  • Preferred Technical Exposure: AWS services such as SageMaker, Model Monitor, Redshift, DynamoDB, or Aurora.
  • Preferred Tools: Python, SQL, Alteryx, Tableau, Teradata, Oracle, PostgreSQL, NoSQL databases, Linux, GitLab, CloudWatch, or QuickSight.
