Our mission is to empower every voice, protect every user, and continuously push the boundaries of what a global media platform can achieve.

Role Overview

We are seeking a visionary leader to serve as the Senior Director, Global Head of Adversarial Abuse & Analytics. This senior‑level position sits at the intersection of data‑driven risk mitigation, product engineering, and global policy enforcement. You will own the end‑to‑end strategy for detecting, analyzing, and neutralizing malicious behavior—including account takeovers, spam, coordinated inauthentic activity, and emerging threats powered by generative AI. The role is fully remote, offering a flexible work‑from‑home arrangement while maintaining a close partnership with cross‑functional teams across the globe.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Adversarial Abuse team responsible for identifying, prioritizing, and eliminating malicious actors targeting arenaflex’s ecosystem.
  • Direct the Analytics team to develop robust measurement frameworks, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms that surface abuse trends and inform strategic decisions.
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Machine Learning groups to design and deploy scalable detection models, leveraging large‑scale data pipelines and advanced statistical techniques.
  • Partner with Global Operations to execute rapid response initiatives, ensuring 24×7 coverage and swift remediation of high‑impact incidents.
  • Define and enforce policy guidelines, working closely with Legal, Public Policy, and Trust & Safety stakeholders to align technical solutions with regulatory requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement by conducting post‑mortems, root‑cause analyses, and iterative enhancements to detection algorithms and operational processes.
  • Mentor and grow a diverse, high‑performing team of analysts, data scientists, and engineers, fostering a culture of curiosity, accountability, and collaboration.
  • Represent arenaflex in external forums, industry conferences, and academic collaborations to stay ahead of emerging abuse vectors and share best practices.
  • Manage budgetary responsibilities, resource allocation, and vendor relationships to ensure cost‑effective delivery of mission‑critical capabilities.
  • Maintain on‑call rotation, including occasional weekend duties, to guarantee uninterrupted protection of the platform.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related quantitative field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Minimum 2 years of hands‑on experience leading risk‑mitigation or abuse‑prevention initiatives at scale.
  • Demonstrated expertise in building and operationalizing data pipelines and machine‑learning models for large‑volume, high‑velocity environments.
  • Proven ability to manage cross‑functional teams that operate on non‑standard work schedules to meet rapid‑deployment timelines.
  • Strong analytical mindset with a track record of translating complex data into actionable product and policy recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills, capable of influencing senior leadership and external partners.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Machine Learning, or Information Science.
  • 2 + years of experience analyzing massive datasets to uncover anomalies, patterns of abuse, or emerging threats.
  • Hands‑on experience with SQL, R, Python, or MATLAB for data extraction, statistical analysis, and model development.
  • Demonstrated interest or prior work in combating malicious activity, including coordinated inauthentic behavior, deep‑fake content, or AI‑generated spam.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to balance technical feasibility, product impact, and risk exposure in a fast‑changing environment.
  • Experience presenting findings to global audiences, crafting executive‑level briefings, and producing transparent reports for external regulators.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Data‑Driven Decision Making: Ability to synthesize large‑scale data, derive insights, and drive strategic action.
  • Technical Leadership: Experience guiding engineers and data scientists in the design, implementation, and scaling of detection systems.
  • Strategic Vision: Capacity to anticipate future abuse trends, especially those emerging from generative AI and other advanced technologies.
  • Collaboration: Proven track record of partnering with product, legal, policy, and operations teams across multiple time zones.
  • Communication: Clear, concise, and persuasive storytelling for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Resilience: Ability to thrive under pressure, manage ambiguity, and maintain focus on long‑term objectives while addressing immediate threats.
  • Ethical Judgment: Commitment to user privacy, fairness, and responsible AI practices.

Career Growth & Learning Opportunities

At arenaflex, senior leaders are empowered to shape the future of a platform that reaches billions. In this role you will:

  • Gain visibility with the executive leadership team, influencing company‑wide risk strategy.
  • Lead cross‑regional initiatives that directly impact user safety on a global scale.
  • Access a robust learning ecosystem, including internal workshops on advanced ML, privacy law, and product design.
  • Participate in mentorship programs, both as a mentor and mentee, to accelerate personal and team development.
  • Explore lateral moves into related domains such as Policy, Product Management, or Global Operations, should your interests evolve.
