Position Overview – Remote Financial Accountant (Data Entry & Bookkeeping)

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Data Management: Accurately record, reconcile, and maintain financial transactions across multiple ledgers, ensuring completeness and compliance with internal policies.
  • Report Preparation & Analysis: Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial summaries, management reports, and regulatory filings, translating raw data into actionable insights for senior leadership.
  • Internal Controls & Audits: Prepare and review account reconciliations, supporting documentation, and audit evidence in accordance with internal control frameworks and external audit requirements.
  • Risk & Compliance Support: Conduct ongoing risk assessments, identify control gaps, and recommend remediation actions aligned with arenaflex’s risk‑management strategy.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Partner with cross‑functional teams—including Treasury, Credit, Compliance, and IT—to resolve accounting issues, streamline processes, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Process Improvement: Evaluate existing data‑entry workflows, propose automation opportunities, and assist in the implementation of best‑practice accounting tools.
  • Regulatory Reporting: Assist with SEC quarterly reporting, Fiserv data integration, and COSO‑based Sarbanes‑Oxley internal control testing as needed.
  • Mentorship & Guidance: Provide practical advice and training to junior staff and peers on bookkeeping standards, data‑entry accuracy, and compliance expectations.

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in finance, accounting, audit, financial reporting, or risk analysis, acquired through professional employment, military service, or academic projects.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with SEC/Regulatory quarterly reporting and familiarity with Fiserv data structures.
  • Hands‑on experience with COSO‑based Sarbanes‑Oxley internal control testing and documentation.
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP financial statements and the ability to synthesize complex data into clear, concise narratives.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and Essbase/SmartView for financial modeling.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to identify root causes, assess downstream impacts, and propose effective solutions.
