arenaflex is a global leader in the design, manufacturing, and deployment of cutting‑edge electric vehicles and clean‑energy solutions. With a relentless focus on innovation, sustainability, and performance, arenaflex is reshaping how people move, power their homes, and interact with the world. Our mission is to accelerate the transition to a zero‑emission future by delivering high‑performance electric transportation, intelligent energy storage, and next‑generation autonomous technologies. As a remote‑first organization, arenaflex empowers talent worldwide to collaborate, innovate, and make an impact from anywhere.

Position Overview

arenaflex is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Scientist to join our New Product Introduction (NPI) team. This role is pivotal in designing, building, and scaling data‑driven solutions that enable rapid product development, manufacturing excellence, and strategic decision‑making across the enterprise. You will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, supply‑chain, and IT partners to create robust data pipelines, advanced analytics models, and intuitive dashboards that turn raw data into actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated, scalable data engineering tools that support continuous analysis of large‑volume, high‑velocity data streams.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including design, manufacturing, supplier, and IT—to translate business challenges into analytical solutions.
  • Build and optimize data pipelines that ingest, cleanse, transform, and store data from multiple sources (e.g., ERP systems, IoT sensors, production databases).
  • Develop predictive and prescriptive models to assess the impact of design changes on manufacturing efficiency, cost, and quality.
  • Create interactive, self‑service dashboards and visualizations that empower engineers and managers to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) in real time.
  • Lead the automation and standardization of data workflows, ensuring reproducibility, version control, and compliance with data governance policies.
  • Provide thought leadership in data analytics, presenting findings to senior leadership and guiding strategic decisions.
  • Mentor junior data scientists and engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies, tools, and best practices in data science, machine learning, and cloud computing, recommending innovations that add value to arenaflex.
  • Document analytical methodologies, codebases, and data schemas to facilitate knowledge sharing across distributed teams.

Essential Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Statistics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Technical Expertise: Proven experience with relational databases and SQL; strong command of a statistical programming language (e.g., R, Python).
  • Data Modeling & Architecture: Deep understanding of data models, schemas, and data warehousing concepts.
  • Analytics & Visualization: Demonstrated ability to design and implement data visualizations using modern tools (e.g., arenaflex Visualizer, Tableau, or open‑source libraries).
  • Statistical Foundations: Solid grounding in statistical methods, experimental design, and hypothesis testing.
  • Problem‑Solving Skills: Ability to tackle ambiguous, complex problems with limited prior information and deliver robust solutions on tight timelines.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to convey technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Collaboration: Experience working in fast‑paced, cross‑functional environments, preferably within manufacturing or product development contexts.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Skills

  • Master’s or Ph.D. in a quantitative field.
  • Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with big‑data processing frameworks such as Spark or Flink.
  • Experience building machine‑learning pipelines for predictive maintenance, quality forecasting, or supply‑chain optimization.
  • Knowledge of simulation tools (e.g., AnyLogic, FlexSim) and their integration with data analytics workflows.
  • Background in manufacturing analytics, product lifecycle management, or automotive engineering.
  • Proficiency in version control systems (Git) and collaborative development practices.
  • Demonstrated curiosity for emerging AI/ML techniques, including deep learning fundamentals.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Analytical Mindset: Ability to dissect large datasets, identify patterns, and generate insights that drive business outcomes.
  • Programming Discipline: Write clean, maintainable, and well‑documented code that can be shared across teams.
  • Automation Focus: Passion for automating repetitive tasks and building reusable data products.
  • Business Acumen: Understanding of manufacturing processes, cost structures, and product development cycles.
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Capacity to lead projects, influence stakeholders, and develop junior talent.
  • Adaptability: Thrive in an environment where requirements evolve rapidly and priorities shift.

Career Growth & Learning Opportunities

At arenaflex, your career trajectory is shaped by your ambition and the impact you create. As a Senior Data Scientist, you will have access to:

  • Strategic projects that influence the design and launch of next‑generation electric vehicles.
  • Mentorship from industry veterans in data science, automotive engineering, and product development.
  • Continuous learning budgets for certifications, conferences, and advanced coursework.
  • Opportunities to lead cross‑functional initiatives and transition into senior leadership roles such as Director of Analytics or Chief Data Officer.
  • Exposure to cutting‑edge technologies, including autonomous driving data pipelines, battery analytics, and renewable‑energy forecasting.
