From massive data centers that host billions of daily queries to cutting‑edge networking solutions that keep information flowing at lightning speed, arenaflex’s mission is to build, maintain, and evolve the infrastructure that fuels the digital age. Our Hardware Operations team is at the heart of this mission, ensuring that every server, switch, and cable works flawlessly so that end‑users experience seamless, reliable performance. If you thrive in a fast‑paced, technically challenging environment and want to be part of a company that shapes the future of computing, this is the role for you.

Why This Role Matters

As a Data Center Operations Technician you will be a critical player in the lifecycle of arenaflex’s data‑center hardware. You will install, configure, test, troubleshoot, and maintain servers and their accessories, as well as the complex networking components that keep them connected. Your work will directly impact the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of arenaflex’s services, enabling millions of users worldwide to search, collaborate, and create without interruption.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hardware Installation & Configuration: Install, rack, and cable servers, storage devices, and peripheral equipment in high‑density data‑center environments.
  • Network Deployment: Set up routers, switches, bridges, and hubs; configure VLANs, BGP, OSPF, and other routing protocols to ensure optimal data flow.
  • Linux System Management: Deploy arenaflex’s customized Linux operating system on new hardware, perform kernel tuning, and resolve OS‑level issues.
  • Troubleshooting & Incident Response: Lead or support incident response teams, diagnose hardware failures, network outages, and software bugs, and implement corrective actions.
  • Project Leadership: Participate in or lead small project teams for large‑scale rollouts, capacity expansions, and infrastructure upgrades, delivering detailed project plans and post‑implementation reviews.
  • Testing & Validation: Conduct rigorous testing of new server components, firmware updates, and network designs before production deployment.
  • Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Maintain accurate records of hardware inventories, configuration changes, and troubleshooting procedures; mentor junior technicians and share best practices.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks, improve operational efficiency, and enhance system reliability.

Minimum Qualifications – What You Must Bring

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Linux+, Cisco CCNA) are a strong plus.
  • Hands‑on experience troubleshooting hardware and networking issues, preferably in a data‑center or similar high‑availability environment.
  • Proficiency with Linux‑based tools and command‑line utilities for system diagnostics and configuration.
  • Familiarity with server hardware components (CPU, memory, storage, power supplies) and networking equipment (routers, switches, firewalls).
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams, communicate technical concepts clearly, and resolve problems under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications – What Sets You Apart

  • Experience operating within a data‑center or network operations center (NOC) environment, handling escalated incidents and service‑level agreements.
  • Basic scripting or programming skills (Python, Bash, or Perl) to automate monitoring, reporting, and routine maintenance tasks.
  • Deep understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS) and experience configuring them on enterprise‑grade gear.
  • Exposure to hardware lifecycle management, including procurement, staging, deployment, and decommissioning.
  • Strong analytical mindset with a passion for solving complex technical puzzles and a continuous‑learning attitude.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Technical Acumen: Ability to read schematics, interpret hardware diagnostics, and apply networking theory to real‑world scenarios.
  • Problem‑Solving: Systematic approach to root‑cause analysis, prioritizing issues based on impact and urgency.
  • Communication: Clear written and verbal communication for incident reports, documentation, and stakeholder updates.
  • Teamwork: Collaborative spirit, willingness to share knowledge, and capacity to mentor less‑experienced colleagues.
  • Physical Stamina: Capability to lift and maneuver heavy equipment, work in confined spaces, and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Adaptability: Comfort with shifting priorities, rapid technology changes, and evolving operational processes.
