Why This Role Matters

In today’s fast‑paced market, the ability to translate business needs into actionable technology solutions is a competitive advantage. As a Remote Senior Business Analyst & Product Owner, you will be the bridge between business stakeholders and development teams, ensuring that every feature delivers measurable value and aligns with arenaflex’s strategic goals. Your work will directly influence the efficiency of our operations, the satisfaction of our customers, and the profitability of the airline.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Product Ownership: Own the product backlog for one or more high‑impact IT initiatives, prioritizing features based on business value, risk, and stakeholder input.
  • Agile Scrum Leadership: Facilitate daily stand‑ups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives, fostering a collaborative, self‑organizing Scrum team.
  • Requirement Elicitation & Documentation: Conduct workshops, interviews, and data analysis to capture functional and non‑functional requirements; translate them into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and wireframes.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with business owners, subject‑matter experts, and senior leadership to ensure alignment and transparent communication.
  • Process Improvement: Analyze existing workflows, identify bottlenecks, and propose streamlined processes that enhance operational efficiency and reduce cost.
  • Quality Assurance Oversight: Partner with QA leads to define test strategies, oversee defect triage, and ensure that releases meet the highest standards before production deployment.
  • Data‑Driven Decision Making: Leverage analytics and performance metrics to validate the impact of delivered features and inform future roadmap decisions.
  • Risk & Issue Management: Proactively identify risks, develop mitigation plans, and communicate issues to the appropriate governance bodies.
  • Continuous Learning & Mentorship: Share Agile best practices, coach junior analysts, and contribute to the evolution of arenaflex’s product management discipline.

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Product Owner, or Project Manager in a technology‑focused environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Agile and Scrum methodologies, with a proven ability to apply flexible frameworks to software development and delivery.
  • Strong understanding of the full product lifecycle—from concept and feasibility through design, development, testing, and release.
  • Experience translating complex business problems into clear, actionable user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and convey technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
  • Proficiency with collaboration tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting while maintaining high levels of productivity and accountability.
  • Commitment to safety, data privacy, and regulatory compliance, especially in the context of aviation operations.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience with SDLC, DevOps, or CI/CD pipelines, particularly in large‑scale enterprise environments.
  • Background in airline or transportation industry processes, including reservations, revenue management, or crew scheduling.
  • Familiarity with data analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and the ability to derive insights that drive product decisions.
  • Certification such as Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), PMI‑ACP, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern architectural patterns (microservices, serverless).
  • Experience leading cross‑functional teams that include developers, QA engineers, UX designers, and operations staff.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to dissect complex data sets, identify trends, and translate findings into strategic recommendations.
  • Problem Solving: Proactive approach to uncover root causes and develop innovative, sustainable solutions.
  • Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills that foster trust, respect, and open communication across diverse teams.
  • Leadership: Capability to guide teams through ambiguity, inspire ownership, and drive results without direct authority.
  • Adaptability: Comfort with rapidly changing priorities and the agility to pivot when business needs evolve.
  • Customer Focus: Deep empathy for end‑users and a relentless drive to improve the passenger experience.
