Role Overview – Quality Assurance Virtual Testing (Automation) Leader

We are seeking an outstanding Quality Assurance Manager – Virtual Testing to spearhead the development of high‑fidelity virtual platforms that enable end‑to‑end validation of complex mechatronic systems. In this role, you will partner closely with product engineering teams, manual QA groups, and internal customers—including Operations, Maintenance, Process Engineering, and Ops Engineering—to ensure that every new solution meets rigorous quality, reliability, and performance standards before it reaches the arenaflex Fulfillment network.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage comprehensive simulation and Hardware‑In‑the‑Loop (HIL) environments that replicate real‑world software, hardware, and material interactions at full scale.
• Develop virtual test plans that validate system‑level requirements, ensuring products are ready for operation, maintenance, deployment, and integration with material handling equipment (MHE).
• Collaborate with product teams to define quality standards, performance thresholds, and acceptance criteria for hardware automation, control software, and packaging materials.
• Coordinate the synchronization of virtual and physical testing activities with the QA Manual Testing and Requirements team to create a seamless validation pipeline.
• Identify, track, and resolve defects, bugs, and recurring quality issues across multiple product lines, driving root‑cause analysis and corrective action plans.
• Engage internal customers (Operations, RME, ACES, PE, OpsEng, WWDE, etc.) to gather feedback, understand operational constraints, and incorporate real‑world insights into simulation models.
• Maintain compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, and arenaflex policies, regulations, and industry standards.
• Lead the development of automated test execution frameworks within HIL environments, leveraging real automation software to accelerate design‑of‑experiment (DOE) studies.
• Mentor and support cross‑functional teams in the interpretation of virtual test results, fostering a culture of data‑driven decision making.
• Drive continuous improvement of virtual testing methodologies, staying abreast of emerging simulation technologies, AI‑enhanced modeling, and best practices in systems integration.

Essential Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of proven experience leading or managing large, cross‑functional engineering teams focused on modeling, simulation, testing, integration, or quality assurance.
• Deep expertise in fulfillment systems, including storage equipment, material handling systems, automated sortation, and related automation hardware.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute high‑fidelity simulations that incorporate real software stacks and hardware interfaces.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with a track record of delivering solutions under tight deadlines.
• Excellent time‑management capabilities and a history of meeting or exceeding project milestones.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 70 % to business locations, project sites, and customer facilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with complex automated material handling equipment, high‑speed packaging technologies, and robotic systems.
• Proven communication skills for effective coordination with engineering, operations, and senior leadership.
• Project management experience, including the ability to initiate, plan, and successfully close large‑scale technical initiatives.
• Familiarity with Design‑of‑Experiment (DOE) methodologies, statistical analysis, and automated test execution tools.
• Background in sustainable packaging design and an understanding of environmental impact considerations.
