Position Overview – Part‑Time Data Entry Analyst (Remote)

We are seeking a detail‑oriented, analytical, and self‑motivated Part‑Time Data Entry Analyst to join our Global Merchant & Network Services (GM&NS) Revenue team. In this role, you will be instrumental in calculating, validating, and reporting merchant rebate revenue for the Canada region, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and actionable insight for our internal stakeholders and external merchant partners. This is a remote, part‑time opportunity offering competitive hourly compensation ranging from $25 to $35 per hour.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate and maintain the Canada merchant rebate revenue tracking model, updating monthly performance against forecast and identifying key drivers of variance.
  • Produce merchant rebate revenue scorecards for the Canada region, delivering clear visualizations and narrative summaries to senior leadership.
  • Drive data normalization and process improvement across multiple regional pricing teams, ensuring consistency in data collection, validation, and reporting.
  • Support external audits by investigating discrepancies, coordinating with regional pricing teams, and facilitating issue resolution.
  • Conduct ad‑hoc data analyses to assess rebate rate trends, uncover hidden insights, and recommend actionable improvements.
  • Collaborate closely with cross‑functional partners—including finance, merchant services, compliance, and technology—to align data definitions and reporting standards.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation of data sources, transformation logic, and reporting procedures to support auditability and knowledge transfer.
  • Continuously refine and automate data entry workflows using Excel, VBA, and SQL to increase efficiency and reduce manual effort.

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in financial services, payments industry, or a related finance role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, complex formulas, and data visualization techniques.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to build and interpret complex financial models.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting data-driven insights to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Skills

  • Experience with SQL or SAS for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Familiarity with payment processing, merchant rebate structures, or revenue recognition principles.
  • Knowledge of data governance, data quality frameworks, and audit processes.
  • Proven track record of driving process improvements and automation initiatives.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence cross‑functional teams and build consensus.
  • Customer‑centric attitude with a genuine curiosity to understand and solve merchant challenges.

Core Competencies for Success

  • Attention to Detail: Precision in data entry and validation is critical to maintaining the integrity of financial reporting.
  • Problem‑Solving: Ability to diagnose data anomalies, investigate root causes, and propose effective solutions.
  • Collaboration: Work effectively with global teams, respecting cultural differences and fostering inclusive dialogue.
  • Adaptability: Embrace evolving business needs, new tools, and changing regulatory environments.
  • Self‑Management: Remote work requires disciplined time management, proactive communication, and accountability.
