Network Security Engineer (Palo Alto & Global Protect)
Network Security Engineer (Palo Alto) - 100% remote (EST working hours*) Optomi, in partnership with a global company is looking to add a Network Security Engineer to their Palo Alto team! The Network Security Engineer will assist an architect with global deployments, implementations, migrations and troubleshooting of an enterprise network. The right person for this role will have extensive experience working with Palo Alto firewalls at an enterprise level. Please note: This is a contract to hire position and requires candidates to work W2 (benefits will be offered). What You Will Do:
- Work on projects and initiatives surrounding Palo Alto firewalls
- Researches and recommends updated networking techniques and processes.
- Develops, documents, and publishes project plans for large projects as designated by manager.
- Researches and recommends updated networking technology and techniques.
- Provides management with a status of work in progress on a frequency defined by management.
What You Will Need:
- 8-10+ years of relevant IT work experience with at least 3-5 years working on Palo Alto firewalls
- Expert level Firewall experience (Palo Alto)
- Expert level Data Center network experience (Cisco preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree or technical institute degree/certificate or equivalent work experience.
- Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of NGFW and FWaaS.
- Experience with general IT concepts beyond their primary discipline
- Good interpersonal skills; effective team player
- Good analytical skills with attention to detail
- Advance knowledge routing and switching.
- Good knowledge of general data center technology.
- Ideally this candidate needs to sit in EST or CST. EST working hours are required.
