Remote · USA Full-time New today

Join arenaflex: Where Precision Data Powers Breakthrough Clinical Research

arenaflex is a forward-thinking clinical research partner supporting sponsors, CROs, and academic institutions across the United States. We specialize in delivering accurate, real-time data management services for ongoing clinical trials spanning oncology, cardiology, rare disease, neurology, immunology, and medical device innovation. Every dataset our team handles directly impacts regulatory submissions, patient safety reviews, and the speed at which promising therapies reach the people who need them. We are scaling rapidly and are looking for dependable, detail-oriented professionals who want to contribute to meaningful science from the comfort of a fully remote workspace.

This part-time opportunity is ideal for an individual who thrives in a structured yet fast-moving environment, enjoys repetitive precision work, and wants to grow within the clinical research industry. If you are looking for a flexible schedule, hands-on exposure to industry-leading electronic data capture (EDC) platforms, and a supportive team that values quality over quantity, arenaflex wants to hear from you.

What You Will Do as a Remote Data Entry Specialist at arenaflex

As a Clinical Data Entry Specialist at arenaflex, you will serve as a critical link between the source patient record and the electronic systems that regulatory reviewers, biostatisticians, and clinical monitors rely on every day. Your work will directly influence data integrity, study timelines, and the overall quality of submissions to the FDA and other global health authorities. Below is a detailed look at what your day-to-day will involve:

Core Data Management Responsibilities

  • Real-Time Data Transcription: Accurately transcribe source data from case report forms (CRFs), patient charts, lab reports, and investigator notes into a variety of electronic data capture (EDC) systems, strictly following each study's protocol and established data entry conventions.
  • Source Document Verification: Review and verify the integrity of all entered data by cross-referencing it against original source documents, ensuring that every field reflects the true clinical picture for each study participant.
  • Query Resolution: Proactively monitor, respond to, and resolve queries raised within EDC systems in a timely manner, collaborating with clinical research associates, site coordinators, and data managers to clarify discrepancies.
  • Standard Operating Procedure Compliance: Follow arenaflex's established standard operating procedures (SOPs), good clinical practice (GCP) guidelines, ICH-GCP standards, and all other applicable regulatory requirements in the execution of every EDC activity.
  • Quality Control Support: Assist the clinical research team with quality control (QC) reviews of patient files per arenaflex's established standards, identifying missing pages, inconsistent values, or protocol deviations before they become audit findings.
  • Document Scanning and Filing: Prepare, label, and scan study documents into the appropriate EDC systems and arenaflex's internal research database, maintaining an organized and easily retrievable electronic filing structure.
  • Monitoring Visit Preparation: Support the clinical team in preparing for onsite and remote monitoring visits for each active study protocol, ensuring that source documents, EDC records, and regulatory binders are audit-ready at all times.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Communicate effectively with clinical research associates, project managers, biostatisticians, and site personnel to ensure seamless data flow across the study lifecycle.

Why This Role Matters at arenaflex

Clinical research depends on trustworthy data. Even a single misplaced decimal point or incorrectly transcribed lab value can delay a study, trigger regulatory queries, or compromise patient safety. At arenaflex, our data entry specialists are not just typists — they are guardians of data quality. Your meticulous work ensures that physicians, regulators, and patients can trust the results of every trial we support.

Essential Qualifications We Are Looking For

arenaflex values potential as much as experience. To succeed in this role, you should bring the following baseline qualifications:

  • Educational Background: A High School Diploma or equivalent is required. An associate degree, bachelor's degree, or coursework in life sciences, health sciences, biology, nursing, or a related field is a strong plus.
  • Exceptional Attention to Detail: A demonstrated ability to spot inconsistencies, missing values, and formatting errors in numerical and textual data.
  • Accuracy Under Repetition: The ability to perform repetitive data entry tasks with a high degree of accuracy over extended periods without losing focus.
  • Organizational Strength: Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple studies, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility and a growth mindset suited to a company in an active expansion phase — you should be comfortable with evolving processes, new EDC platforms, and shifting study demands.
  • Self-Sufficiency: The ability to work independently with minimal supervision, owning your workload and proactively communicating blockers.
  • Team Collaboration: A collaborative spirit with strong interpersonal skills, enabling you to work effectively with other remote team members across multiple time zones.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

While not required, candidates with the following qualifications will stand out during the recruitment process:

  • Prior Data Entry Experience: 1–2 years of experience in data entry, ideally in a regulated industry such as clinical research, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, or financial services.
  • Research Background: Previous experience in clinical research, academic research, or a related scientific environment is strongly preferred.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft clear, professional messages to internal stakeholders and external site personnel.
  • Microsoft Office Proficiency: Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel (filters, basic formulas, formatting), Word, Outlook, and SharePoint.
  • EDC Platform Familiarity: Hands-on experience with research-grade EDC systems such as Veeva Vault, Medrio, IBM Clinical Development, OpenClinica, Medidata RAVE, Oracle Clinical, or similar platforms is highly desirable.
  • GCP Knowledge: Familiarity with Good Clinical Practice guidelines, ICH guidelines, HIPAA regulations, and 21 CFR Part 11 compliance is a significant advantage.
  • Typing Speed: A typing speed of 50+ words per minute with high accuracy is beneficial for meeting study timelines.

Skills and Competencies for Success at arenaflex

Beyond technical skills, arenaflex looks for candidates who embody the following competencies:

  • Accountability: You take ownership of your work and follow through on commitments without needing constant reminders.
  • Critical Thinking: You don't just transcribe — you think. You question anomalies, flag inconsistencies, and propose solutions.
  • Resilience: You can manage the demands of repetitive tasks while maintaining a positive, solutions-oriented attitude.
  • Digital Fluency: You are comfortable learning new software systems quickly and adapting to evolving technology stacks.
  • Patient-Centric Mindset: You understand that every data point represents a real person participating in a study, and you treat that responsibility with the seriousness it deserves.

Career Growth and Learning Opportunities

Joining arenaflex as a Data Entry Specialist is often the first step on a long and rewarding career path in clinical research. We invest in our team members' development through:

  • Internal Mobility: Clear pathways to roles such as Clinical Data Coordinator, Clinical Research Associate, Data Manager, and Quality Control Specialist.
  • Cross-Therapeutic Exposure: Opportunities to work across multiple therapeutic areas, giving you a broad understanding of the clinical research landscape.
  • Continuous Learning: Access to webinars, lunch-and-learns, and professional development resources covering everything from regulatory updates to soft skills.
