Join arenaflex and Shape the Future of Enterprise Data

At arenaflex, data is the engine that powers every decision, every customer interaction, and every innovation that moves our industry forward. We are seeking an experienced and visionary Team Lead – IT Data Governance & Quality Engineering to lead the development, implementation, and continuous evolution of our enterprise-wide Data Governance capabilities. This is a fully remote, full-time opportunity designed for a seasoned data professional who thrives at the intersection of strategy, technology, and collaboration. If you are passionate about building trusted data ecosystems, mentoring high-performing teams, and partnering with stakeholders across the business to turn data into a true competitive advantage, this role is built for you.

The modern enterprise runs on information, and at arenaflex we treat data as a first-class asset. Our Data Governance program is the backbone of how we define, protect, measure, and operationalize that asset across every line of business. As Team Lead, you will own critical capabilities within the program, drive measurable adoption of governance standards, and serve as a thought leader who influences how thousands of colleagues understand, consume, and contribute to enterprise data. This is a career-defining opportunity to leave a lasting mark on the data culture of a global organization while enjoying the flexibility and autonomy of remote work.

Why This Role Matters at arenaflex

Data Governance is not a back-office function at arenaflex — it is a strategic enabler. The work you lead here will directly influence how confidently the business makes decisions, how effectively we comply with global regulations, and how quickly we can innovate with data-driven products and services. You will partner with executive leadership, data stewards, engineering teams, and business analysts to embed governance into the fabric of how arenaflex operates. Your fingerprints will be visible in the policies, platforms, and practices that define our data future.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, deployment, and ongoing maintenance of arenaflex’s Data Governance capabilities, ensuring each capability is practical, scalable, and aligned to business priorities.
  • Own the workflows, standards, processes, policies, and guidelines that bring governance capabilities to life across the enterprise.
  • Serve as a core member of the arenaflex Data Governance Program Management team, with particular focus on the Data Quality capability stream.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with business units, technology teams, and analytics leaders to enable consistent adoption of Data Governance and Data Quality standards.
  • Partner with the Data Governance Steering Committee and leadership forums to define, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and adoption metrics for each capability.
  • Research, evaluate, recommend, and roll out new technologies and tooling that strengthen the governance ecosystem at arenaflex.
  • Work closely with Data Governance Platform engineering teams to automate capability processes and reduce manual effort through intelligent workflows.
  • Act as the Product Owner for capability-specific products, including backlog grooming, roadmap definition, and stakeholder prioritization.
  • Champion each capability internally as the primary evangelist, driving awareness, education, and sustained engagement across the organization.
  • Translate complex technical and governance concepts into clear, business-friendly language that resonates with non-technical audiences.
  • Manage programs and projects end-to-end — from ideation and stakeholder alignment through execution, measurement, and continuous improvement.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as needed, consistent with the scope and seniority of the role.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, Business, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in Data Analytics, Data Governance, or a closely related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing one or more Data Governance capabilities within a complex, mid-to-large organization.
  • Proven ability to define and track metrics that measure adoption, maturity, and progress of governance initiatives.
  • Working experience with Business Intelligence platforms, Data Lakes, and Data Warehouses.
  • Experience handling sensitive data categories such as PII, SPII, and PHI, along with familiarity in regulatory frameworks including GDPR, CCPA, and similar privacy laws.
  • Hands-on experience with Data Quality and Data Observability tools and platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Change management experience identifying downstream data impacts of regulatory and reporting requirements.
  • Experience automating data governance processes and workflows using market-leading governance products.
  • Detailed experience delivering governance artifacts such as data dictionaries, metadata repositories, lineage maps, data movement controls, and element-level data quality rules.
  • Prior experience as a Data Steward — acting as a subject matter expert, reviewing data access, or serving as product owner for a data domain or data product.
  • Experience working within Agile and DevOps delivery frameworks.
  • Background in the airline, aviation, travel, or hospitality industry is a strong plus.

Skills, Certifications, and Competencies

  • Working knowledge of SQL and comfort navigating relational data structures.
  • Strong conceptual understanding of data management, analytics, and information architecture.
  • Industry certifications such as CDMP (Certified Data Management Professional) or DGSP (Data Governance and Stewardship Professional) are highly valued.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to bridge the gap between technical governance concepts and business outcomes.
  • Adaptability and comfort operating in a fast-evolving working model, with the agility to shift focus as business priorities evolve.
  • Strong program and team management skills, with the ability to move initiatives from idea to execution with discipline and clarity.
  • A continuous improvement mindset with a passion for mentoring others and elevating team performance.
