About the Role

Our client, a national leader in specialized event services, is seeking a strategic and experienced Head of Catering Logistics to spearhead their remote operations. This is a fully remote, leadership position responsible for the end-to-end management of all catering supply chain, transportation, and inventory operations across the country. You will play a critical role in optimizing efficiency, reducing costs, and ensuring the timely and safe delivery of catering resources to various event locations. The ideal candidate is a master of supply chain management, possesses strong analytical skills, and has a proven ability to lead and motivate remote teams. You will be instrumental in developing and implementing innovative logistics strategies that support our client's growing business needs. Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive logistics strategies for national catering operations. Oversee all aspects of the catering supply chain, including procurement, inventory management, warehousing, and distribution. Optimize transportation routes and methods to ensure efficient and cost-effective delivery of catering supplies and equipment. Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers and vendors. Implement and maintain robust inventory control systems to minimize waste and ensure product availability. Develop and enforce safety protocols for transportation and warehousing of food and equipment. Analyze logistics data to identify areas for improvement and implement process enhancements. Lead, train, and manage a geographically dispersed team of logistics coordinators and warehouse staff. Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations and company policies. Collaborate with the operations and culinary teams to align logistics with event demands.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. 10+ years of progressive experience in logistics and supply chain management, with a significant portion in a leadership role. Proven experience managing complex, multi-site operations, preferably in the food service or catering industry. Expertise in inventory management systems, transportation management systems (TMS), and WMS. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to manage a remote team effectively. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic logistics plans. Proficiency in relevant software, including advanced Excel skills and ERP systems. Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively in a remote setting. Strong understanding of food safety and transportation regulations.
