Description The Clinical Manager is a key leader within the practice, responsible for overseeing all clinical operations to ensure the highest standards of patient care, safety, efficiency, and team performance. This role manages the clinical team, ensures compliance with regulatory standards, oversees inventory and equipment maintenance, and collaborates with the Office Manager to support practice goals. The Clinical Manager plays a pivotal role in staff development, operational planning, and continuous improvement of clinical workflows.

  • Provide daily supervision, coaching, and support to the clinical team, including delegation of responsibilities, monitoring performance, and leading regular clinical meetings.
  • Ensure smooth and efficient day-to-day clinical operations, proactively identifying and resolving workflow issues or patient care delays.
  • Maintain clinical standards by overseeing procedure protocols, infection control practices, and OSHA/HIPAA compliance. Regularly audit clinical documentation and procedures to ensure accuracy and adherence to policy.
  • Manage onboarding, training, and competency development for new and existing clinical staff. · Foster a collaborative, growth-oriented culture with regular feedback and performance evaluations.
  • Oversee ordering, budgeting, and inventory of dental supplies and clinical equipment. Ensure maintenance schedules are adhered to and equipment is functioning optimally.
  • Serve as primary clinical liaison to the Compliance Specialist regarding OSHA, HIPAA, emergency preparedness, and equipment safety. Implement and monitor corrective actions as needed.
  • Champion a positive, patient-centered environment. Support staff in delivering clear communication, comfort, and consistency in all clinical interactions. · Provide regular updates to the Office Manager on clinical operations, staffing, and performance metrics. Assist with strategic planning and implementation of practice-wide initiatives.

Requirements

  • Must maintain certification and/or license renewals as required by the state.
  • Must excel in forward thinking in order to anticipate the needs of the patient and our dental team.
  • May be required to travel between office locations. · Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a clinical dental assistant, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Extensive knowledge of dental procedures, equipment, and infection control standards.
  • Excellent communication skills, both with patients and team members.
  • Manual dexterity for handling dental instruments and assisting in procedures.
