[Remote] Data Scientist
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. The Data Scientist will be responsible for querying and analyzing complex datasets to generate insights that support cancer care delivery, applying advanced data mining, statistical analysis, and machine learning techniques to build predictive models and deliver actionable solutions.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with clinical, administrative, and technical teams to support data-driven decision making
- Query and analyze large datasets across multiple systems
- Develop and deploy machine learning and predictive models
- Design and implement pilots to validate and optimize models in real-time environments
- Create data visualizations, technical documentation, and executive-ready presentations
- Translate complex data findings into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders
- Manage projects involving complex datasets and cross-functional teams
- Independently execute analytical work from hypothesis through final deliverables
- Identify patterns and trends to support innovation in care delivery and operations
Skills
- Master's degree with 0+ years of experience, or Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience
- Experience with data analytics, statistical modeling, and machine learning techniques
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, R, Java, or C/C++
- Strong experience with SQL and working with relational databases
- Experience with machine learning (e.g., Random Forest, XGBoost, LightGBM) and deep learning techniques (e.g., CNN, RNN, LSTM)
- Ability to extract, analyze, and interpret data to develop testable hypotheses and predictive models
- Experience with data visualization and communicating insights to non-technical audiences
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and manage complex projects
- Familiarity with healthcare data, EHR systems, genomics, or medical imaging
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure and modern data science tools
