[Remote] Platform Engineer

The Platform Engineer will work at the intersection of infrastructure, reliability, and developer experience, focusing on improving system performance, reliability, and scalability while collaborating with engineering teams.

Responsibilities

  • Build and operate scalable, reliable platform infrastructure supporting engineering teams
  • Develop automation for deployment, configuration, and service lifecycle management
  • Support and improve system reliability through monitoring, alerting, and incident response
  • Participate in on-call rotation and troubleshoot production issues
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to improve service performance and operational readiness
  • Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure resources
  • Maintain and improve CI/CD and build systems
  • Perform core infrastructure operations such as backup, restore, and patching
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills

  • Experience with Kubernetes in production environments, including Helm
  • Working knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP
  • Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Ansible
  • Proficiency in Bash and familiarity with one programming language such as Go, Python, or Java
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools
  • Solid Linux fundamentals and troubleshooting experience
  • Familiarity with CI/CD systems such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions
  • Experience with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or TiDB
  • Experience with Redis, RabbitMQ, or Elasticsearch
  • Exposure to Kubernetes networking or service mesh technologies such as Linkerd or Calico
  • Familiarity with distributed systems concepts such as leader election and locking
  • Experience working in microservices-based environments
