Position Overview

We are expanding our Caremark Member Operations team—arenaflex’s dedicated PBM division—to bring on enthusiastic, customer‑focused professionals who can work from the comfort of their own homes. As a Remote Customer Service Representative, you will be the first point of contact for members seeking assistance with prescription coverage, medication benefits, and mail‑order services. Your role is pivotal in translating complex pharmacy benefit information into clear, actionable guidance that improves members’ quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Answer inbound member calls with a courteous, empathetic tone, addressing inquiries related to commercial plans, Medicare Part D, Medicaid, and other specialized pharmacy benefit programs.
  • Explain prescription insurance details, coverage options, and mail‑order processes, ensuring members fully understand their benefits.
  • Navigate arenaflex’s internal systems to retrieve member information, verify eligibility, and process requests accurately while maintaining strict HIPAA compliance.
  • Identify opportunities to resolve issues on the first call, escalating complex cases to senior specialists when necessary.
  • Document interactions in the CRM system with clear, concise notes to support future follow‑up and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in ongoing virtual training sessions, self‑paced modules, and live coaching to stay current on product updates, regulatory changes, and best‑practice communication techniques.
  • Contribute ideas to improve call flow, knowledge base articles, and member education resources, reinforcing arenaflex’s commitment to a heart‑driven experience.
  • Adhere to schedule commitments, maintain a distraction‑free workspace, and meet performance metrics related to call quality, average handling time, and member satisfaction.

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a customer‑facing role (call center, retail, hospitality, military service, or similar).
  • Proficiency with Windows‑based applications and the ability to quickly learn new software platforms.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; a strong track record of reliability and professionalism.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems positively and productively, especially under pressure.
  • Exceptional verbal communication skills, with a patient, helpful demeanor that conveys genuine concern for members’ well‑being.
  • Strong telephone etiquette, including clear articulation, active listening, and respectful language.
  • Ability to maintain composure, empathy, and confidence when handling sensitive health information.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • At least 6 months of experience in a health‑care environment, such as pharmacy, insurance, or medical services.
  • Familiarity with pharmacy benefit terminology (e.g., formulary, prior authorization, copay).
  • Experience using CRM or ticketing systems to document customer interactions.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning, such as participation in professional development courses or certifications.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Empathy & Patience: Ability to connect with members, understand their concerns, and provide reassurance.

  • Technical Agility: Comfort navigating multiple software tools simultaneously while maintaining data integrity.
  • Time Management: Efficiently handle call volume fluctuations and adhere to schedule flexibility.
