Licensed Veterinarian / Veterinary Consultant for Product Formula Review & Endorsement
Job Description
We are an established pet wellness brand seeking a licensed, credentialed Veterinarian (DVM / VMD) or Veterinary Nutritionist to perform a professional compliance and safety review of our existing pet supplement formulas. Our product line features already-manufactured, high-quality soft chew supplements, including our Liver Support (Milk Thistle & Kidney Vitality) chews and tablets. We prioritize clean, safe, and premium wellness solutions for pets, and we are looking to establish a formal relationship with a veterinary professional to validate our ingredient profiles. The goal of this project is to secure a qualified professional review so that we may accurately and legally utilize "Veterinarian Reviewed," "Veterinarian Approved," or "Veterinarian Vetted" claims on our digital storefronts and product packaging.
Key Responsibilities
Formula Auditing: Review our pre-existing, manufactured ingredient lists, active components (e.g., Milk Thistle, specific organ-support dosages), and inactive ingredients to verify safety, efficacy, and appropriate dosage thresholds. Safety Verification: Confirm that the ingredient combinations pose no adverse risks for daily maintenance in dogs when used according to label instructions. Compliance Guidance: Review our current front-of-pack structure and benefit claims (e.g., "Boosts Liver Wellness," "Enhances Kidney Vitality") to ensure they line up with veterinary safety standards and do not cross into unauthorized medical drug claims. Sign-Off / Deliverable: Provide a brief written statement, signed report, or signed compliance agreement confirming your professional review, granting us the right to state "Veterinarian Reviewed" or "Veterinarian Vetted" on our packaging and marketing channels.
Required Qualifications
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) from an accredited university. Active, unrestricted veterinary license (state-specific or general consultant standing). Strong background or specialization in Veterinary Nutrition, Toxicology, or Holistic Pet Wellness is highly preferred. Prior experience consulting for pet food, treat, or supplement brands is a major plus. Deep understanding of NASC (National Animal Supplement Council) guidelines or general pet supplement labeling frameworks is a benefit, though not mandatory. Project Details & Logistics Project Type: One-time contract with potential for ongoing advisory retainers as we expand our supplement line. Products Dynamic: The formulas are entirely finalized and already manufactured; no new formulation development is required. NDA Required: The selected candidate must sign a standard Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) before viewing proprietary ingredient ratios and spec sheets. Budget: Fixed-price for the 11 formulas reviewed (please submit your expected rates with your proposal). Apply tot his job Apply To this Job
