Key Responsibilities
As a Remote Data Entry Specialist with arenaflex, your primary focus will be on supporting pharmacy operations through accurate data management and patient communication. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Patient Enrollment and Data Entry: Process new patient enrollments using established data entry methods and protocols, ensuring all information is entered accurately into the appropriate pharmacy systems.
- Prescription Request Management: Handle patient medication requests while strictly adhering to HIPAA regulations, and process refill orders efficiently for timely fulfillment.
- Information Research and Resolution: Investigate incomplete prescription information, interpret medical abbreviations (such as SIG codes), and resolve all data entry-related exceptions to maintain clean and reliable records.
- Multi-Channel Patient Communication: Handle correspondence with patients through inbound and outbound calls, emails, and online visits. Make outbound calls to prescribers and patients as needed to clarify or confirm information.
- Third-Party Exception Resolution: Resolve third-party billing exceptions by reviewing cases, gathering relevant data, making necessary corrections, and resubmitting claims for processing in accordance with individual payer requirements. Contact insurance companies via phone to obtain missing information, secure override approvals, or otherwise resolve outstanding issues.
- Pharmacist Support: Provide administrative and operational assistance to pharmacists, both on-site and in remote locations. Identify and escalate issues to senior staff when appropriate to ensure timely resolution.
- Licensing Compliance: Obtain an active professional license or certification within the first 90 days of employment and maintain an active status throughout your tenure with arenaflex.
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Educational Background: High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Basic Computer Skills: Proficiency in starting and shutting down a computer, using a mouse to point and click, launching and closing programs, switching between applications, saving files, printing reports, and accessing information online.
- Web Navigation Skills: Ability to open browsers, correctly type URLs, use search engines, bookmark websites, navigate using back/forward/stop buttons, and complete online forms.
- Keyboarding Speed: Intermediate typing skills of at least 25 words per minute (WPM), with the ability to type by memory and format basic documents.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication abilities are essential for interacting with patients, prescribers, and insurance representatives.
- Age Requirement: Must be 18 years of age or older.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications will give you a competitive edge:
- At least one year of pharmacy technician experience in a retail or call center environment.
- At least 18 months as a certified pharmacy technician, with state registration or certification granted by a State Board of Pharmacy or a nationally recognized certification body.
- Demonstrated experience providing customer service to both internal and external clients, with a track record of meeting quality standards and contributing to customer satisfaction initiatives.
- Intermediate to advanced keyboarding skills of 35 WPM or higher, with the ability to type by memory and format professional documents.
- Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English is highly desirable, as it enables broader support for our diverse patient population.
