[Remote] Mainframe Developer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. EDZ Systems is seeking experienced Mainframe Application Developers with expertise in IBM z/OS technologies and COBOL development. The role involves application development, maintenance, production support, and collaboration with teams to deliver scalable solutions in mission-critical environments.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and support enterprise applications in IBM z/OS environments
- Design, code, test, and implement enhancements using COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2, and CICS
- Analyze and resolve production issues, application defects, and performance bottlenecks
- Support batch processing and job scheduling activities across enterprise systems
- Develop and maintain DB2 database programs, queries, and data access processes
- Create and maintain JCL for application execution, batch processing, and system integrations
- Support application modernization, system upgrades, and deployment activities
- Work closely with business users, analysts, and technical teams to gather requirements and implement solutions
- Participate in incident management, root cause analysis, and ongoing production support activities
- Document technical designs, operational procedures, and support processes
- Support and develop solutions utilizing IBM Content Manager OnDemand (CMOD)
- Maintain and enhance document archival, retrieval, and reporting systems
- Support IBM Content Navigator (ICN) integrations and document management workflows
- Troubleshoot document retrieval, storage, indexing, and reporting issues
- Work with enterprise document management and content services platforms
- Support report distribution, archival processes, and data retention requirements
Skills
- Experience developing and supporting applications in IBM z/OS environments
- Strong knowledge of COBOL, JCL, VSAM, and DB2
- Experience with enterprise batch processing and scheduling tools
- Experience supporting production environments and troubleshooting complex application issues
- Familiarity with IBM Content Manager OnDemand (CMOD), IBM Content Navigator (ICN), or related enterprise content management solutions is highly preferred
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced enterprise environment
