[Remote] Senior Manager – Technology Delivery (Financial Services)

They are seeking a proven Technical Delivery Leader with a strong engineering background to drive execution across multiple engineering teams building fintech and banking platforms under tight timelines and high stakeholder expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Own delivery across multiple engineering teams building fintech/banking platforms
  • Drive execution across architecture, development, testing, deployment, and production
  • Deliver under tight timelines, regulatory constraints, and high stakeholder expectations
  • Operate effectively in fast-paced, high-demand environments
  • Manage competing priorities, dependencies, and delivery risks
  • Drive teams to meet aggressive timelines without compromising quality
  • Deeply understand and challenge: System architecture, API strategies, Event-driven and distributed systems, Data pipelines and reconciliation flows
  • Partner closely with engineering teams — not operate at a distance
  • Own production readiness and system reliability
  • Lead incident reviews, root cause analysis, and stability improvements
  • Ensure systems meet enterprise standards for performance, resilience, and compliance
  • Act as the primary delivery partner to senior client stakeholders (VP/CXO)
  • Lead executive reviews, roadmap discussions, and escalation management
  • Translate business priorities into clear, actionable delivery plans
  • Lead delivery within consulting environments
  • Navigate ambiguity, shifting scope, and stakeholder pressure
  • Maintain delivery velocity while protecting engineering quality
  • Create high-quality client-facing materials: Architecture overviews, Delivery plans, Risk and mitigation frameworks, Stability and incident reports, Translate complex technical discussions into structured, executive-ready content
  • Candidates must have a strong engineering background and be comfortable working close to code, architecture, and production systems
  • Must be able to: Read and understand code when needed, Challenge engineers and architects on design, performance, and scalability, Engage meaningfully in architecture and production discussions

Skills

  • 15+ years in technology delivery
  • 8–10+ years leading complex engineering programs
  • Strong experience in fintech, banking, or capital markets platforms
  • Proven track record of successful delivery in fast-paced, high-performance environments
  • Prior hands-on experience as a software engineer (preferably backend)
  • Strong understanding of Java / Spring Boot–based systems
  • Strong understanding of event-driven architecture (Kafka or similar)
  • Strong understanding of microservices and distributed systems
  • Strong understanding of REST APIs and integration patterns
  • Experience working with UNIX / Linux environments
  • Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and release management
  • Must be able to read and understand code when needed
  • Must be able to challenge engineers and architects on design, performance, and scalability
  • Must be able to engage meaningfully in architecture and production discussions
  • Exceptional PowerPoint / Google Slides skills
  • Strong technical writing ability
  • Proven experience presenting to senior stakeholders
  • Experience at Accenture, IBM, Big 4, or similar consulting environments
  • Demonstrated strong tenure and success, not short stints
  • MBA or equivalent business leadership experience strongly preferred
