Boston Medical Center (BMC) is seeking a Business Intelligence Developer/Report Writer to design, develop, and maintain reports within the Epic electronic health record system. This role involves collaboration with healthcare professionals and IT teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and to meet the reporting needs of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy custom reports and dashboards within the Epic EHR system using Epic’s reporting tools such as Reporting Workbench, Radar, SlicerDicer using Caboodle and Clarity data sources
  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications for report development. Ensure data accuracy and integrity
  • Work closely with stakeholders, including healthcare providers, administrators, and IT teams, to gather requirements and understand reporting needs
  • Identify and resolve issues related to Epic reports and data discrepancies. Provide technical support and guidance to end-users
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation for report specifications, development processes, and user guides
  • Ensure reports comply with industry regulations, standards, and organizational policies
  • Stay current with updates and best practices related to Epic reporting tools. Recommend and implement enhancements to improve reporting efficiency and effectiveness

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare Informatics, or within a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in report development, with a focus on healthcare reporting in Epic EHR systems
  • Experience with Epic's Reporting Workbench, Radar, Caboodle and Clarity
  • Proficiency in SQL
  • Knowledge of programming language
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality work
  • Relevant certifications in Epic Reporting
  • Experience in lieu of education
  • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes
