Position Overview: Become a Retention Specialist at arenaflex
Are you a skilled communicator with a passion for problem-solving and a talent for sales? We are seeking a dedicated, empathetic, and driven Remote Customer Service and Sales Retention Specialist to join our award-winning customer experience team. In this critical role, you will serve as the voice and expert problem-solver for customers considering canceling their arenaflex services. Your mission: retain their business by delivering exceptional customer experiences, identifying their true needs, and presenting tailored solutions that reinforce the value of being an arenaflex customer for the long term.
This is not your typical customer service position. While you will handle a high volume of incoming calls, each interaction is an opportunity to make a difference. You will engage with customers who may be frustrated, upset, or simply seeking answers, and you will transform their experience through active listening, empathy, and strategic negotiation. What You'll Do: Key Responsibilities
- Customer Retention Excellence: Serve as a Retention Specialist focused on saving business by re-selling customers on the value of arenaflex and addressing what matters most to them. Your primary goal is to retain long-term business by providing the right solution at the right time.
- High-Volume Call Handling: Manage a high volume of incoming calls from customers requesting to cancel their services. A significant percentage of these calls will be escalated, requiring advanced de-escalation techniques and a calm, professional demeanor.
- Empathy and Compassion in Action: Handle back-to-back calls with care, empathy, and professionalism. Overcome objections, reduce customer frustration, and ensure each interaction leaves the customer feeling heard, valued, and confident in their relationship with arenaflex.
- Active Listening and Problem Identification: Use exceptional attention to detail to listen for customer clues, ask the right questions, and uncover the underlying issues or concerns driving the cancellation request.
- Solution-Oriented Negotiation: Leverage exceptional de-escalation skills on difficult escalated calls. Focus on identifying concerns and providing multiple offers to resolve customer issues, including negotiating lower rates, crediting billing errors, providing service to fix system problems, and selling additional equipment.
- Quick Calculations and Strategic Problem-Solving: Use proven problem-solving skills to quickly identify the cause of cancellation requests. Create quick calculations and work with customers to negotiate the right solution efficiently and effectively.

- Product and Industry Expertise: Maintain comprehensive knowledge of arenaflex policies, products, services, and systems. Stay current on the wireless industry, service capabilities, and competitor offerings to position arenaflex as the clear best choice.
What We're Looking For: Essential Qualifications
- Sales Experience (2+ Years Required): A minimum of two years in a sales role where you were required to sell or save customers, particularly within a performance-driven, commission-based environment.
- Call Center Experience (2+ Years Required): At least two years of customer service and sales experience in a call center setting, handling high-volume inbound calls.
- Educational Background: High school diploma or GED required. College degree, some college experience, or equivalent professional development preferred.
- Customer Retention Expertise: Demonstrated experience in sales, customer retention, and customer experience, with a proven ability to retain customer loyalty to a product or service.
- Contract Interpretation Skills: Ability to read, interpret, and clearly communicate contract terms and conditions to customers in straightforward language.
- Numerical Aptitude: Comfortable performing quick calculations to support negotiation and solution-building in real time.
- Active Listening and Negotiation: Exceptional active listening skills combined with strong negotiation abilities to uncover customer needs and close on win-win solutions.
- Technical Proficiency: Comfortable working with numerous screens and programs open simultaneously to resolve customer issues efficiently.
Remote Work Requirements: Your Home Office Setup
To succeed in this remote role, you will need:
- A private, undisturbed workspace free from any distractions, providing a professional environment for handling sensitive customer interactions.
- High-speed internet service via DSL, Cable, or Fiber, with the ability to hardwire your computer to your cable modem via ethernet cable for maximum reliability.
- Minimum internet speeds of 25 Mbps download and 15 Mbps upload. Please note that 5G Home Internet and Fixed Wireless Internet are not accepted providers for this role.
- Strong attendance adherence is critical to your success, especially during the initial 8-12 week training program. Any missed time during training can affect your overall performance trajectory.
