What You'll Do as a Senior Data Scientist at arenaflex
As a Senior Data Scientist, you will bring deep quantitative expertise to the most pressing challenges facing the business. You will partner with cross-functional stakeholders, mentor junior analysts, and architect analytical solutions that move the needle on critical metrics. Your day-to-day will include:
- Driving Strategic Decision-Making: Use quantitative analysis, statistical modeling, and compelling data storytelling to help leaders see beyond the numbers and understand the underlying drivers of our business performance.
- Building End-to-End Analytical Solutions: Design, develop, and maintain full-cycle analytics experiments, reports, and dashboards using SQL, R, Python, and other scripting and statistical tools.
- Mentoring and Leading: Guide and coach junior analysts on advanced analytical techniques, statistical best practices, and structured problem-solving approaches.
- Validating Insights Through Rigor: Apply statistical methods, hypothesis testing, and experimentation frameworks to ensure your findings are robust, defensible, and actionable.
- Influencing Product and Business Strategy: Provide insights to product, operations, and business leaders on market dynamics, user behavior, and long-term trends that shape the future of arenaflex.
- Identifying Growth Levers: Discover, measure, and prioritize the metrics and initiatives that will drive the most significant business impact.
- Structuring Ambiguous Problems: Work backward from complex business questions, define the analytical approach, size the opportunity, and ideate innovative solutions.
- Building Executive-Grade Dashboards: Construct clear, insightful reporting tools that track progress against company goals and enable data-driven leadership at every level.
- Collaborating with Engineering: Partner closely with engineering teams to implement, document, validate, and monitor logging and data infrastructure that powers our analytics.
What We're Looking For: Qualifications & Experience
Essential Qualifications
- Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or a closely related quantitative discipline.
- Professional Experience: At least 4+ years of hands-on experience in data analytics, consulting, or a related quantitative role, ideally within a fast-paced, high-growth technology or logistics environment.
- Advanced Analytical Expertise: Deep experience with funnel optimization, user segmentation, cohort analysis, time series analysis, regression modeling, and other advanced analytical techniques.
- Technical Proficiency: Expert-level skills in SQL queries, ETL processes, A/B testing, and statistical analysis using tools such as Python, R, SAS, or Matlab.
- Data Visualization Skills: Proficiency with one or more modern analytics and visualization platforms, such as Looker, Tableau, Chartio, or similar tools.
- Structured Problem-Solving: The intellectual curiosity and analytical rigor to take highly ambiguous business problems and break them down into structured, hypothesis-driven, data-supported investigations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in marketplace dynamics, logistics, e-commerce, or on-demand delivery platforms.
- Familiarity with experimentation platforms and causal inference methodologies.
- Track record of mentoring junior data scientists and elevating the analytical maturity of teams.
- Experience collaborating with engineering teams on data modeling, schema design, and logging best practices.
