Senior Computational Biologist

Job Summary: We are seeking a Senior Bioinformatics Analyst to support advanced data science and computational biology initiatives within a research and development environment. This role will focus on large-scale omics data analysis, predictive modeling, perturbation analysis, and machine learning applications to support drug discovery and translational research efforts. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in bioinformatics, statistical programming, and AI-driven analytical approaches. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support in silico perturbation analyses to evaluate and rank drug targets and combination strategies for efficacy prediction
  • Develop and enhance computational frameworks for biological signature analysis and comparative assessments
  • Ingest, clean, transform, and preprocess large-scale multi-modal datasets for downstream analytics
  • Apply machine learning and artificial intelligence methodologies to solve complex biological and research challenges
  • Utilize large language model tools and coding assistants to improve analytical workflows and productivity
  • Execute computational analyses using genomic, transcriptomic, and other omics datasets
  • Develop custom scripts, functions, and data visualization tools using R and Python
  • Collaborate with cross-functional scientific and technical teams to translate biological questions into computational solutions
  • Communicate findings effectively through reproducible analyses, reports, and presentations
  • Support model development activities including training, validation, testing, and performance evaluation

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree with relevant industry experience or Doctorate degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Biostatistics, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computational Genetics, or a related quantitative discipline
  • Strong programming experience with Python and/or R
  • Experience processing and analyzing RNA sequencing, CRISPR screening, imaging, genomic, or next-generation sequencing datasets
  • Experience working in high-performance computing environments and parallel computing frameworks
  • Knowledge of machine learning methodologies, model development, testing, validation, and cross-validation techniques
  • Experience developing custom analytical pipelines and statistical workflows
  • Familiarity with large-scale omics data integration and analysis
  • Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple analytical projects

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with toxicogenomics and mechanistic profiling
  • Experience integrating multi-modal biological datasets
  • Knowledge of cloud-based computational environments
  • Experience leveraging AI-assisted development and analytical tools
  • Exposure to drug discovery, translational science, or biomarker research programs
