[Remote] Senior Platform Ops Engineer

As a Senior Platform Operations Engineer, you will design and deliver platform capabilities that enable application teams to deploy, manage, and scale their services, directly impacting developer experience and platform reliability.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and operate core platform services within Azure, including landing zone components, networking, and shared infrastructure
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) modules and automation to enable consistent, scalable deployments across environments
- Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines and deployment frameworks that support application teams in delivering software efficiently and reliably
- Create and maintain 'golden paths' that enable application teams to provision infrastructure and deploy services through self-service capabilities
- Collaborate with application engineering teams to onboard them to platform capabilities and improve overall developer experience
- Implement and maintain observability solutions to ensure visibility into platform performance, health, and usage
- Support escalation for platform and infrastructure-related issues, working closely with application teams to resolve complex problems
- Continuously monitor and optimize platform performance, reliability, and cost efficiency
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the development of platform standards, best practices, and documentation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including SRE, Security, and Engineering to align on platform capabilities and operational excellence
Skills
- Proven experience in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, or platform engineering roles with a strong focus on hands-on delivery and ownership
- Strong knowledge of cloud computing technologies, with experience in Microsoft Azure environments including networking, compute, and managed services
- Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or OpenTofu, including developing reusable modules and patterns
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, and deployment tooling
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes/AKS)
- Solid understanding of observability practices, including monitoring, logging, and alerting (e.g., Azure Monitor, Application Insights)
- Strong understanding of networking, identity, and security best practices in cloud environments
- Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to a collaborative, high-performing team environment
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience
