[Remote] Sales Director - Public Safety SaaS (Western U.S.)

Octave is modernizing mission-critical Public Safety technology used by state and local government agencies across the U.S. They are seeking a Sales Director to lead growth in the Western U.S. for their Public Safety SaaS portfolio, focusing on regional revenue growth and team leadership.
Responsibilities
- Own Western U.S. ARR and booking targets for the Public Safety portfolio
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of 4 Account Executives
- Drive disciplined forecasting, pipeline management, and execution rigor
- Execute net-new logo acquisition and competitive displacement strategy
- Lead complex, multi-stakeholder 6–18 month public sector sales cycles
- Drive SaaS and cloud migration across existing and new customers
- Build trusted relationships across Police, Fire, Sheriff, City, County, and State leadership
- Personally support and drive key enterprise deals
- Navigate procurement processes including RFPs, state contracts, and cooperative purchasing frameworks
- Partner with Presales, Product, Marketing, Legal, and Finance
- Align regional execution with broader Octave growth strategy
- Provide field insights to influence product direction and roadmap priorities
Skills
- 10+ years enterprise software sales experience
- 3–5+ years leading quota-carrying sales teams
- 5+ years selling into state and local government or public safety agencies
- Strong track record of exceeding $5M+ annual quota (individual or team leadership)
- Deep experience with RFP-driven, complex enterprise sales cycles
- Proven success in SaaS / cloud transformation sales environments
- Experience leading competitive takeaways and large-scale migrations
- Strong executive presence and ability to influence senior government stakeholders
- Builder of high-performing enterprise sales teams in complex markets
- Strong operator with disciplined execution and forecasting rigor
- Deep understanding of public sector procurement and buying processes
- Hands-on leader who balances strategy with deal execution
- Collaborative partner across product, engineering, and executive teams
