About arenaflex – Pioneering the Future of Retail Experience

arenaflex is a global leader in innovative retail solutions, dedicated to redefining how consumers interact with physical stores. By leveraging cutting‑edge hardware, AI‑driven analytics, and seamless integration with digital platforms, arenaflex eliminates friction from the traditional shopping journey. Our mission is to empower shoppers to move effortlessly through stores, enjoy frictionless checkout experiences, and ultimately spend more time on what matters to them. As part of our expanding ecosystem, we partner with forward‑thinking retailers, technology providers, and supply‑chain innovators to create a world where the line between online and offline commerce disappears.

Why This Role Matters

In today’s rapidly evolving retail landscape, the ability to test, validate, and launch new technology at customer sites is a critical differentiator. As a Customer Experience Analyst on a contingent basis, you will be at the heart of this transformation. You will work directly with cross‑functional teams—engineers, product managers, data scientists, and field technicians—to ensure that every new device, sensor, or software update delivers a superior experience for shoppers and measurable value for our partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technology Evaluation: Assess the functionality, reliability, and overall customer experience (CX) of emerging hardware and software solutions deployed in live retail environments.
  • Feedback Loop Creation: Provide clear, data‑driven technical and CX feedback to development teams, influencing product roadmaps and prioritization.
  • On‑Site Deployment: Travel to customer locations across the United States (approximately 50% of the time) to install, configure, and calibrate new technology.
  • Customer Interaction: Conduct in‑person interviews, surveys, and observational studies to capture authentic shopper reactions and pain points.
  • Impact Quantification: Analyze collected data to quantify the impact of new technology on metrics such as dwell time, conversion rate, and checkout speed.
  • Reporting & Presentation: Summarize findings in concise written reports and deliver compelling presentations to senior leadership and product development teams.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and trade‑offs associated with technology rollouts, recommending mitigation strategies in ambiguous or fast‑changing environments.
  • Collaboration: Partner with internal stakeholders—including engineering, operations, and marketing—to align deployment activities with broader business objectives.

Essential Qualifications

  • A four‑year degree in a science or engineering discipline (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering).
  • Minimum of two (2) years of hands‑on product development experience in consumer hardware, from concept through field deployment.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly, both in writing and verbally, to diverse audiences ranging from senior executives to on‑site store staff.
  • Strong analytical and data‑interpretation skills, with proficiency in turning raw data into actionable insights.
  • Proven track record of delivering results in fast‑paced, customer‑centric environments.
  • Comfortable with frequent travel (approximately 50% of the workweek) and able to adapt quickly to new store layouts, regional cultures, and operational constraints.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field (if not already covered by the essential qualifications).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) to automate data collection, analysis, or device configuration tasks.
  • Formal training or coursework in project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, PMP) to help coordinate multi‑disciplinary deployment efforts.
  • Experience with statistical analysis tools (R, SAS, Excel Power Query) and data visualization platforms (Tableau, Power BI).
  • Familiarity with retail technology ecosystems, such as point‑of‑sale (POS) systems, RFID, computer vision, or IoT sensor networks.
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments, making sound decisions with incomplete information while balancing risk and reward.

Core Competencies for Success

  • Customer Obsession: A relentless focus on the shopper’s perspective, ensuring every technology decision enhances the end‑user experience.
  • Analytical Rigor: Ability to dissect complex datasets, identify patterns, and translate findings into strategic recommendations.
  • Effective Communication: Clear, concise, and persuasive storytelling—both written and oral—to influence cross‑functional teams.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to pivot quickly as project scopes evolve, technology changes, or new insights emerge.
  • Collaboration: Strong teamwork skills, fostering trust and alignment across engineering, product, operations, and retail partners.
  • Project Discipline: Organized approach to managing timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder expectations.

Career Growth & Learning Opportunities

arenaflex invests heavily in the professional development of its talent. As a contingent analyst, you will have access to:

  • Mentorship from senior product managers and technology architects who have built industry‑leading retail solutions.
  • Training resources covering advanced analytics, machine learning, and emerging retail technologies.
  • Opportunities to transition into full‑time roles within arenaflex’s product development, data science, or operations teams based on performance.
  • Exposure to a broad network of retail partners, giving you a panoramic view of the industry’s biggest challenges and innovations.
  • Certification support for project management (e.g., PMP, Scrum Master) and technical skills (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

Work Environment & Culture at arenaflex

Our culture is built on three pillars: Innovation, Inclusion, and Impact.

  • Innovation: We encourage curiosity, experimentation, and bold ideas. Employees are empowered to challenge the status quo and prototype new solutions.
  • Inclusion: arenaflex is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diverse perspectives and foster an environment where every voice is heard and valued.
  • Impact: Every project directly influences the shopping experience of millions of consumers. You will see the tangible results of your work in real stores, not just on a screen.

Compensation, Perks & Benefits

While this is a contract position, arenaflex offers a competitive hourly rate ranging from $38 to $42 per hour, reflective of experience and expertise. Additional benefits include:

  • Flexible work schedule to accommodate travel and personal commitments.
  • Reimbursement for travel expenses, including flights, lodging, and meals incurred during on‑site deployments.
  • Access to arenaflex’s learning portal, featuring courses on data analytics, emerging retail tech, and leadership development.
  • Opportunity to participate in internal innovation challenges and hackathons.
  • Comprehensive health and wellness resources for contractors, including virtual fitness classes and mental‑health support.
