Remote Junior Illustrator - Childrens Books & Digital Art

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with senior illustrators, writers, and editors to visually conceptualize childrens stories and digital content.

Create expressive, original illustrations aligned with project briefs and target age groups (primarily ages 3–10).

Translate written narratives into sequential art, ensuring visual consistency and emotional resonance.

• *

Work with digital tools to prepare artwork in required formats, resolutions, and layouts.

Take constructive feedback and revise artwork based on editorial and creative direction.

Maintain project deadlines and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.

Contribute to brainstorming sessions and bring fresh, imaginative ideas to the table.

• Required Skills and Qualifications

Strong drawing, sketching, and coloring skills, particularly for characters, animals, and imaginative scenes.

Proficiency in digital illustration tools (such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Procreate, Clip Studio Paint, or similar).

• *

Ability to adapt artistic style based on brand or book requirements.

Solid understanding of composition, color theory, and visual storytelling.

Basic knowledge of file formats and exporting illustrations for print and digital publishing.

Strong communication and time management skills.

• Experience

0–2 years of professional experience in illustration or digital art.

A portfolio showcasing relevant work for childrens content is essential (even personal or student projects are welcome).

Internship or freelance experience in illustration is a plus but not required.
