[Remote] Sr. Business Intelligence Analyst

The Sr. Business Intelligence Analyst will collaborate with operational teams to analyze healthcare data, develop insights, and support strategic decision-making, while also mentoring junior analysts and improving reporting tools.

Responsibilities

  • Support all core disciplines of Honest’s business (i.e., Medical Expense Management, Risk Adjustment/Clinical Documentation Integrity, Quality and Care Management) and be a resource for other colleagues and leaders. Specific expertise in one or more of these disciplines will be a focus depending on organizational needs
  • Develop a deep understanding of Honest Health’s data assets and analytics product inventory as it relates to strategic decision-making, problem-solving and generation of actionable insights
  • Serve as the core analytics partner for Medical Expense Management, translating business needs and opportunities into data-informed insights and actionable, decision support tools
  • Lead end-to-end development of dashboards, tools, and analyses with minimal direction, ensuring outputs meet the needs of multiple business stakeholders
  • Integrate and analyze data from diverse sources including electronic health records (EHRs), health information exchanges (HIEs), and claims data that are housed in Honest’s electronic data warehouse (EDW) and/or other population health platforms
  • Leverage expert SQL skills to extract and analyze large, complex data and transform it into informative deliverables, insights, tools, and presentations that clearly communicate trends, risks, and improvement opportunities
  • Identify relationships in data sets, determine key fields, and independently recommend actionable insights
  • Manage and prioritize high-complexity ad hoc requests, working across teams to refine problem statements and deliver insights that influence business decisions
  • Introduce automation, efficiency, and standardization into existing reporting tools and analytic workflows
  • Provide coaching, technical guidance, and informal mentorship to Business Intelligence Analysts to support their development
  • Deliver timely, accurate responses to ad hoc requests and proactively surface root causes, trends and opportunities for optimization
  • Serve as a strategic partner through forming and maintaining strong relationships within the Analytics team, with stakeholders across the business – from individual contributors to executive leadership
  • Utilize strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills to develop and deliver powerful insights through the adoption of new data visualization, advanced business intelligence, and emerging AI-driven tools (and support others in development of these skills)
  • Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring clarity and understanding of data and its interpretation to support informed decision-making
  • Exhibit exceptional reliability and follow-through, with the ability to commit to multiple concurrent deadlines and be accountable for updates and on-time delivery
  • Collaborate with IT/Data Engineering to influence data pipeline requirements, table structures, and enhancements needed for analytics
  • Perform other related responsibilities as assigned

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Healthcare, or similar field is required; Master's degree is considered a plus
  • 5+ years of experience in data analytics is required including expertise with large, complex data sets is required
  • 3+ years of experience in Tableau, building dashboards end to end, is required
  • 1+ years of healthcare analytics experience and a strong understanding of healthcare data and operational workflows is required
  • Experience with value-based care models is required
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong SQL skills, preferably in a Snowflake or other cloud computing environment required
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work effectively across functions and levels of an organization
  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for digging into processes to better understand them and communicate the big picture
  • Proven ability to operate comfortably and effectively in a fast-paced, highly-matrixed environment
  • Strong strategic, analytical, and creative skills with a history of tackling and solving complex challenges
  • Able to navigate ambiguity and transform complexity into a state of clarity and actionable structure
  • Capable of working independently and collaborating efficiently within a team environment
  • Working knowledge of programming languages (i.e., R, Python, SAS) desired
  • Familiarity with the utilization of AI, Machine Learning and/or NLP in a healthcare setting
