About the position The Development Product Owner Senior at USAA plays a crucial role in supporting the Treasury Operational Planning & Execution team. This position acts as a direct representative of the business for the Agile team, focusing on the implementation of USAA's accounts payable integration layer and the retirement of the legacy ERP application. The role involves understanding and communicating the business vision, writing and refining user stories, prioritizing the backlog, and providing guidance to technical teams. The Product Owner will utilize critical thinking and Agile principles to collaborate with stakeholders and the development team to implement solutions that integrate with USAA's new payment engine while managing the transition from legacy systems. Responsibilities • Work with business and Subject Matter Authorities to understand business strategy and vision, writing and prioritizing user stories and features. , • Own and maintain a prioritized work backlog for one or more Agile teams, ensuring user stories are consumable and testable. , • Serve as the direct representative of the business with delivery teams, representing the customers' perspective throughout the product delivery cycle. , • Participate in cross-functional teams to develop, implement, and release products in alignment with program and product road maps. , • Partner with sponsors and IT to define and document relevant business processes, understanding needs, measures, and risks. , • Prepare the business for change, providing tactics and metrics for benefits, adoption, and risk management. , • Oversee development, testing, and controls across different technologies, both internal and external. , • Apply advanced knowledge in business development/execution, seeking opportunities for enhancement and improvement. , • Coach and mentor other Product Owners. , • Ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled. Requirements • Bachelor's degree or 4 years of related experience in addition to 10 years total experience may substitute for a degree. , • 6 years of experience in process improvement, project delivery, or business/requirements analysis. , • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products, databases, and product management tools. , • Solid knowledge of multiple technical software delivery methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, SAFe). , • Experience analyzing business requirements and process flows to streamline business processes. , • Sophisticated knowledge of Process Engineering methodologies. , • Strong ability to independently capture business requirements and develop business capabilities. Nice-to-haves • Experience working cross-functionally with IT and business partners. , • Experience supporting multiple Agile teams simultaneously. , • Prior experience in a Product Owner or Product Management role. , • Experience with JIRA, Clarity, or similar work management tools. , • Familiarity with the Peoplesoft Accounts Payable module. , • Familiarity with USAA member and corporate disbursements or complex payment ecosystems. , • Previous payments or money movement experience, preferably supporting EFT and check disbursements.
