Finance Manager - Smart Building Technology

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Finance Manager to lead our financial management processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong commercial awareness, excellent analytical skills, and a proven track record in compliance and financial operations. This role is crucial in supporting our strategic objectives and ensuring rigorous adherence to tax regulations and internal controls both here in Australia and the US. Key Responsibilities • Financial Management: Oversee all aspects of financial management, including general ledger maintenance, monthly financial reporting, cash flow analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations. • Strong Commercial Awareness: Understand the business context and financial drivers, ensuring efficient and effective financial operations while adhering to regulations. • Tax Compliance and Regulatory Adherence: Manage AU and U.S. state and federal tax filings with a focus on full regulatory compliance. • Transfer Pricing & R&D Compliance: Assist in preparing transfer pricing documentation and ensure adherence to R&D tax credits and incentive programs, particularly in the U.S. and Australia. • Payroll Management: Collaborate with the People & Culture team to oversee payroll management, currently handled by third-party providers. • Strategic Financial Insights: Partner with senior management to provide actionable financial insights that drive performance optimization and strategic decision-making. • Internal Controls & Reporting: Establish robust internal controls and ensure accurate preparation of financial statements and reports in compliance with regulatory requirements. • Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work closely with auditors, tax consultants, legal teams, and other key stakeholders to ensure smooth operations that balance business needs and compliance obligations. • Growth Mindset: Continuously enhance financial processes with a focus on automation, efficiency, and scalability to support our company’s growth trajectory. Qualifications and Experience • CA/CPA accreditation is required. • Proven experience as a Global Finance Manager or similar role, with strong expertise in compliance, audits, and tax management. • Knowledge of U.S. state and federal tax systems, payroll, and international taxation. • Strong attention to detail combined with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. • Experience in a fast-paced SaaS or tech-driven environment. • Proficiency in MYOB and Dynamics 365; advanced Excel skills are essential. • A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
