Responsibilities

Cancer Specialists of North Florida is recruiting for an experienced Insurance Follow-Up Specialist for our busy Central Business Office. This is not a remote position. The Insurance Follow-Up Specialist is responsible for reviewing all specifically assigned accounts, in order to resolve unpaid patient accounts. In addition, the Specialist will assist patients with their inquiries regarding their account. The Specialist also reviews EOBs to provide proper claim reimbursement, interprets fee schedules, and prepares write-off requests for supervisors. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following: • Performs review of patient accounts to ensure accuracy and timely payment per protocol • Demonstrates the ability to deal with patients and insurance companies in a professional manner regarding sensitive financial matters and recapture unpaid balances • Receives and resolves patient billing complaints and questions; initiates adjustments as necessary; follows up on all zero payment explanations of benefits and exercises all options to obtain claim payments • Receives written requests for refunds; researches and requests funds appropriately • Responds to insurance companies request for information in a prompt and professional manner • Reviews EOBs to ensure proper reimbursement of claims and reports any problems, issues, or payer trends to supervisor • Interprets fee schedules and utilize to ensure proper payments • Prepares write-off requests with appropriate documentation and submits to supervisor • Works multiple A/R reports as provided by supervisor within specified timeframe • Requests necessary information from site. Follows up to assure receipt of information • Maintains confidentiality in regards to patient account status and the financial affairs of clinic/corporation • Attends seminars as needed • All other duties as assigned Full Time position Location Address: 7751 Belfort Parkway, Jacksonville, FL 32256 Education And Experience • High School Diploma or Equivalent • Minimum of two years’ experience in a medical business office setting, preferably working with insurance collections and follow-ups
