We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Consultant to join our team on a short-term contract basis to assess our existing payroll system (UKG). The consultant will evaluate the effectiveness, efficiency, and compliance of our payroll processes, identify potential improvements, and provide recommendations for system optimization. This is a temporary position requiring an individual with expertise in payroll systems and processes, who can quickly understand our current setup and provide actionable insights. Responsibilities: • Evaluate Current Payroll System: Assess the structure, functionality, and performance of the existing payroll system, identifying any gaps, inefficiencies, or areas for improvement. • Compliance Review: Ensure the system is fully compliant with local, state, and federal payroll regulations, including tax withholdings, deductions, benefits, and reporting requirements. • Identify System Optimization Opportunities: Analyze the workflow and processes to recommend system upgrades, automation opportunities, or process changes to streamline payroll operations. • Data Integrity Check: Review data accuracy and completeness within the payroll system, addressing any discrepancies or errors. • Report Findings and Recommendations: Provide a detailed report on findings, including potential risks, areas of non-compliance, and suggestions for improvement. Present recommendations on any system enhancements, tools, or integrations that could increase efficiency. • Liaise with Internal Teams: Work closely with HR, Finance, and IT teams to understand payroll-related needs and constraints, ensuring any proposed solutions are feasible and align with organizational goals. • Provide Guidance on Implementation (if applicable): If applicable, provide advice or strategic direction for the implementation of new systems or processes following the assessment. Qualifications: • Proven experience as a payroll consultant or in a similar payroll systems assessment role. • Strong knowledge of payroll systems, payroll processing, tax regulations, and labor laws. • Familiarity with various payroll platforms (e.g., ADP, Workday, UKG, etc.). • Ability to quickly understand and assess complex payroll systems and processes. • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
