Job Title: After-School Care Assistant Job Description: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated After-School Care Assistant to join our team. The After-School Care Assistant will play a vital role in providing a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children after school hours. The After-School Care Assistant will be responsible for supervising children, assisting with homework, organizing recreational activities, and ensuring their overall well-being during after-school hours. The ideal candidate will be energetic, patient, and have strong communication skills to interact effectively with both children and parents. Key Responsibilities: • Supervise and engage children in age-appropriate activities during after-school hours. • Assist children with homework and provide educational support as needed. • Organize and facilitate recreational activities, including arts and crafts, sports, and games. • Ensure the safety and security of children at all times. • Encourage positive behavior and reinforce good manners and respect among children. • Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and other staff members regarding the progress and behavior of children. • Maintain a clean and organized after-school environment. • Follow all safety regulations and guidelines for after-school care programs. • Assist with snack preparation and cleanup as needed. • Provide emotional support and guidance to children as they navigate social interactions. Requirements and Qualifications: • Previous experience working with children in an educational, childcare, or recreational setting is preferred. • High school diploma or equivalent is required; coursework in child development, education, or a related field is a plus. • Ability to manage groups of children in a structured and supportive manner. • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire). • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children. • Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions from supervisors. • Must pass a background check and meet any other licensing requirements as per state regulations. • Flexibility to work weekday afternoons and occasional evenings as needed.
