Sr. Manufacturing Engineer – Paint Application Remote - upper Midwest ideal -- APPROX 50% travel Direct Hire Pay: 140-155K plus bonus and LTI Purpose: Lead the development, evaluation, optimization, and implementation of paint delivery and coating application technologies across manufacturing facilities. Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and implement new and improved paint process technologies.
  • Develop technical specifications for coating equipment and oversee design, installation, and optimization.
  • Standardize and maximize efficiency across coating systems while serving as an SME.
  • Create technical drawings and application system libraries.
  • Conduct benchmarking, competitive research, and new technology investigations.
  • Improve transfer efficiency and yield in coating applications.
  • Ensure safety compliance and effective cross-department coordination.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years in industrial-scale paint application design and optimization, preferably in wood products or water-based coatings.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and coatings analysis tools.
  • Strong data analysis, scientific, and statistical skills.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and project management abilities.
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards and environmental considerations.
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification preferred.
