Logistics Coordinator / Account Manager

About the position The Logistics Coordinator Position will assist the Account Manager in the daily operations of an account, or group of accounts. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, scheduling pickups through TA’s TMS, tracking shipments, and communicating with carriers and suppliers. Must have Over-Dimensional Freight knowledge. Responsibilities • Assist the Account Manager in daily operations of accounts. , • Schedule pickups through TA’s TMS. , • Track shipments and communicate with carriers and suppliers. , • Service customers and carriers by proactively communicating. , • Negotiate rates with drivers and carriers to get the most cost-effective rate for all parties. , • Schedule pickup and delivery appointments with the shipper/receiver. , • Problem solve to ensure timely delivery of customer’s freight. , • Assist in verifying credentials to ensure reliable carriers/drivers. , • Work daily with a team that will assist with acquiring drivers and carriers for customer’s freight. , • Uphold all five of TA Services company values. , • Build strong and reliable relationships with customers, drivers, and carriers. , • Stay up to date with current market trends to accurately speak on current transportation trends. Requirements • Logistics coordinator or account manager with OD freight experience. , • Over-Dimensional Freight knowledge. , • Excellent customer service and communication skills. , • Detail oriented and organized. , • Strong negotiation skills. , • Ability to understand dynamic markets. Nice-to-haves • Aggressive/growth mindset. , • Motivated self-starters needing minimal supervision. , • Knowledge and practice of Microsoft Office, McLeod, and/or Transportation Management Systems. , • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Transportation and Logistics Management, or similar work experience.
