Firefighter/EMT-Intent to Test

About the position The White Settlement Fire Department is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Firefighter/EMT. The role is essential for protecting life, preventing harm, and preserving property within the community. Candidates must complete an Intent to Test form and meet specific qualifications to participate in the hiring process, which includes written and physical agility tests.

Responsibilities

Requirements • Must be a U.S. citizen and at least 18 years of age. , • Must be a high school graduate, have passed GED test, or have completed 12 semester hours of college. , • Must be able to read and write in the English language. , • Must not have been discharged from military service under less than honorable conditions. , • Must hold TCFP Basic Structure Firefighter certification at the time of written examination. , • Must hold TDSHS EMT Basic certification at the time of the written examination. , • Must possess a current valid driver's license with a good driving record. , • Have no felony convictions or a history of misdemeanor convictions indicating habitual law violation. , • Be subjected to a search of records to disclose a criminal record. , • Standard visual acuity without correction, at least 20/40 in one eye and 20/100 in the other eye, correctable to at least 20/20 and 20/40. , • Must be able to distinguish between the colors red, yellow, and green. , • Be able to pass a validated physical ability test successfully. , • Be able to pass a post-offer physical, psychological, drug test, and polygraph. , • All candidates must pass a comprehensive background investigation.
