Job Details GENERAL SUMMARY: The Store Associate acts as a point of contact for our customers. The duties of the Store Associate include assisting customers in locating and purchasing merchandise, operating the cash register, stocking merchandise, recovering merchandise, cleaning the store, and performing other duties as assigned by the Store Manager to maximize store profitability and customer satisfaction while protecting company assets. DUTIES and ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: • Provide outstanding customer assistance through friendly interactions and support. • Operate the cash register and scanner to itemize and calculate the total cost of the customer's items, collect payments, give the appropriate change, pack the products, and help customers in choosing merchandise as needed. • Follow the company's merchandising protocols; unwrap deliveries, maintain stock levels, restock shelves, and set up attractive product exhibits. • Maintain cleanliness within the store premises by carrying out tasks such as trash removal, dusting surfaces, mopping floors, sanitizing the restroom and receiving area, and assisting in the setup of exterior displays.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS: • Developing strong interpersonal communication abilities and oral presentation skills is essential. • Grasping the implementation of safety guidelines. • Capability in reading and implementing planograms and instructions for merchandising displays. • Competence in foundational cash management techniques. • Basic mathematical skills. • Skill in managing cash register duties with accuracy. • Proficiency in managing stock levels. WORK EXPERIENCE and/or EDUCATION: • Preference may be given to individuals who hold a high school diploma or equivalent. WORKING CONDITIONS: • Repeatedly engaging in walking and standing activities. • Frequently needing to bend, stoop, and kneel in order to oversee the checkout area, arrange merchandise, and receive deliveries; this may also involve pushing and/or pulling rolltainers to stock products. • The job often entails manipulating tools such as handheld scanners, pricing guns, box cutters, and merchandise containers, as well as handling equipment like two-wheel dollies, U-boats, and rolltainers. • Repetitive and accurate handling of items weighing up to 40 pounds; sporadic lifting of objects weighing up to 55 pounds. • Occasional ascension to a height of six feet utilizing a step ladder. • A dynamic atmosphere with a moderate degree of audible distractions. • Periodic exposure to outdoor weather circumstances.
