Position Summary
The Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (JATC) for the New York City District Council of Carpenters is recruiting 25 Carpenter Apprentices. This apprenticeship program offers hands-on training and education to individuals interested in pursuing a career in carpentry. Apprentices will learn the skills necessary to work in various construction environments, including residential, commercial, and industrial projects. ? *Recruitment Details** - Recruitment Period: March 12, 2025 ? February 11, 2026. - Information Sessions: Held on the second Wednesday of each month (excluding December and January) from 9:00 AM ? 10:00 AM at the NYCDCC Training Center, 395 Hudson Street, 2nd Floor, New York, NY 10014. - Application Process: Attend an in-person information session to receive a passcode for online application access. Applications must be submitted within 60 days of attending the session. ? *Key Responsibilities** - Perform carpentry tasks such as framing, installing structures, and finishing work. - Work on scaffolds, in confined spaces, and at heights. - Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently. - Follow blueprints, sketches, and verbal instructions to complete projects. - Maintain a clean and safe work environment. - Attend required training sessions and classes as part of the apprenticeship program. ? *Minimum Qualifications** - Must be at least 17 years old at the time of application. - Must have a high school diploma or equivalent (TASC or GED).
