Job title: Controls Engineer REMOTE With Travel in Atlanta, GA at Actalent Company: Actalent Job description: Controls Engineer -TRAVELJob DescriptionAs a Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for the completion of conveyor upgrade and system integration projects. This role involves developing, creating, testing, implementing, and commissioning PLC programs for conveyor systems.Responsibilities
  • Develop initial code conforming to established in-house programming and field commissioning standards.
  • Comply with customer specifications on each project for system control and monitoring, testing, completing field testing documentation, and field commissioning and start-up activities.
  • Prepare detailed and complete PLC programs that are fully annotated and comply with the system design drawings required to implement the project scope according to project specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements.
  • Test and document testing procedures for all programs and software developed, ensuring they comply with customer and in-house testing documentation requirements.
  • Complete all commissioning documents for L1 and L2 commissioning.
  • Conduct field commissioning and testing of assigned projects, working within a team to deploy and turn over completed, tested systems to customers.
  • Travel to job sites as required for commissioning and start-up activities for assigned projects.
  • Collaborate with project managers, customers, and others to discuss and understand project specifications, scope, and design requirements.
Essential Skills
  • Proficiency in PLC programming, specifically with Allen Bradley and RSLogix.
  • Experience in controls engineering and commissioning.
  • Strong understanding of industrial control networks and Ethernet/IP communications.
  • Experience with material-handling equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 2-5 years of relevant Controls Engineering experience.
  • Familiarity with HMI and control systems.
Work EnvironmentThis role offers a remote work environment with 100% travel to customer sites. Candidates should be located on the East Coast near large airports in cities such as Atlanta, Chicago, Louisville, New York, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Charlotte, Jacksonville, Boston, Orlando, Ohio, and Alabama.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $90000.00/yr.10% annual bonus 8 weeks of PTO, 14 holidays Fantastic company culture focused on hard work and the well being of their employees.
