Dental Director - Remote (Living In Kansas)

About the position The Dental Director is responsible for overseeing clinical management and review activities to enhance the quality and efficiency of oral healthcare within the organization. This role involves collaborating with dental professionals, managing grievances and appeals, and driving continuous quality improvement initiatives. The position allows for remote work for residents of Kansas, providing flexibility while addressing significant challenges in dental care management.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains a collegial relationship with contracted and affiliate dentists to support the business efforts of the organization.

  • Maintains an active liaison with Dental Consultants, reviews dental and medical/dental cases, and oversees representation at State-level Fair Hearings as requested.

  • Works with the Quality Director to implement state-specific clinical initiatives and ensures alignment with business processes and procedures.

  • Drives improvement of quality indicators by identifying, directing, and executing continuous quality improvement activities or processes.

  • Participates in Committees as needed.

  • Collaborates with Business Operations and Provider Relations staff.

  • Partners with the Clinical Affordability team to support innovative approaches to enhance healthcare efficiency for dentists and patients.

  • Develops and cascades clinical outcome/improvement messaging to cross-functional teams to foster a cohesive working culture.

  • Assists in driving aligned performance in the dental provider network through meaningful relationships, financial and quality incentives, and best practices.

  • Identifies and develops current/new best practices in support of continuous financial and quality improvement.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD)

  • Current and unrestricted Kansas Dental License

,

  • 5+ years of clinical experience

,

  • 3+ years of managed care experience

,

  • Post-graduate experience in direct patient care

,

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

,

  • Current resident of Kansas
