Responsibilities: • Hold all associates accountable for their actions and behaviors to ensure mutual respect and trust is maintained. • Train your team to provide exceptional service at all times, including during busy periods or when dealing with difficult customers. This helps customers feel valued and appreciated, and can lead to increased loyalty and repeat business. • Garner and uphold product knowledge about the inventory of the store and have the capacity to reply to inquiries and provide expert guidance on products. • Accountable for maintaining a visible presence, displaying amiability, and proactively greeting, interacting with, and supporting clients. • We strive to facilitate customer transactions at the check lane with speed, precision, and seamless efficiency. • It is important to adhere to the designated working hours as per schedule. • Verify the precise payment for the purchased items; distribute accurate change; manage checks, credit and debit transactions adhering to appropriate departmental paperwork and operational procedures. • Possess a comprehensive knowledge of the Point of Sale system, enabling you to assist customers with using different payment methods, rain checks, complicated loyalty programs, coupons, and the checkout procedure as per the company’s regulations. • Utilize either the scanning window by brushing it over the goods, a handheld filter, or type the information into the 10-key pad to record sales data. • Conform to the business's cash handling policies and implement loss prevention measures by working conscientiously and honestly. • Follow the guidelines that regulate the sale of restricted commodities, such as Videos, Fireworks, Alcohol, and Tobacco. • Follow a set of protocols for preventing inventory loss, such as carefully inspecting basket bottoms, scanning all items to ensure accurate inventory tracking, eschewing manual sales transactions, and executing closing procedures appropriately. • Ensuring productivity goals are achieved by promptly executing transactions within the assigned time. • Notify the appropriate personnel immediately if you encounter any pricing discrepancies according to the company's standard operating procedure. • Stay up-to-date about the latest, forthcoming, seasonal, and exclusive advertisements. • As part of your customer service duties, ensure that you notify customers of the different company directives, such as Kroger Personal Finance, fuel points, customer service surveys, and fundraising requests. • The checkout area should always remain clean, which means that wiping down all surfaces is essential. • Fortify safety measures by complying with established safety procedures and identifying any unsafe conditions, and immediately notifying store management of such hazards. • Let the management know if there are any incidents concerning either customers or employees. • You must communicate any safety threats or criminal acts, including robbery, theft or fraud, to the proper authorities. • Stay in compliance with all local, state, and federal laws, as well as adhere to the policies and procedures outlined by the company. • It is important to make sure that all regulations regarding merchandising, customer service, cash management, labor management, expenditure and supply handling, loss prevention, maintenance, safety, food safety, associate behavior, and customer engagement are being complied with. • The person selected for this role is expected to carry out the necessary duties regardless of whether or not accommodations are provided.
