About the position The Director of Product Design for Decorative Accessories at Target is responsible for leading the design and development of innovative and high-quality products that align with the company's overall product strategy. This role involves collaborating closely with merchandising and sourcing teams to ensure brand cohesion and continuity, while also driving financial results through unique product offerings. The position requires a strong design vision, leadership skills, and the ability to identify market trends to create exclusive products that resonate with Target's customer base. Responsibilities • Lead the development of creative concepts and product strategy for Target's decorative accessories. , • Collaborate with merchandising and sourcing teams to ensure alignment with brand vision and product assortment. , • Drive financial results by providing design solutions that differentiate Target's products in the marketplace. , • Manage designer partnerships and oversee the execution of product design across various categories. , • Conduct seasonal trend research and guide the product design and development processes. , • Set clear objectives for team members, provide performance feedback, and evaluate potential. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Design, Fine Arts, or a related field, or equivalent experience. , • 15+ years of experience in product design and development within a retail or wholesale environment. , • Demonstrated leadership ability in managing product development teams of ten or more. , • Outstanding communication, presentation, negotiation, and influencing skills. , • In-depth knowledge of design and product development processes, including textiles and garment manufacture. Nice-to-haves • Experience with domestic and overseas market travel. , • Strong commercial sense and ability to identify trends in product design.
