STEM101: JerseySTEM 20 hrs/week Internship for recent graduates

Overview

JerseySTEM has exciting unpaid internship opportunities for individuals interested in 20 hour/week commitment for at least one month, renewable indefinitely. The Intern will be responsible to work on projects relevant to JerseySTEM mission to deliver after school enrichment classes to underserved kids. Internships are in any of the following fields:

- Marketing

- Journalism

- Non Profit Management

- Grant Writing

- Curriculum Development and Teaching

- Computer Sciences

- Business Analysis

- Finance

- Social Media

- Data Analytics

- Engineering

Responsibilities

• As a member of the department you will join, you will be assigned activities supporting projects the department is working on.
• is expected to be professional while dealing with people and customers at all times.
• You will be responsible to report to the assigned manager in writing every day a short update on the work you are conducting.
• You are expected to report to the department head or HR if you are unable to connect with your manager as it was agreed.
• During your internship shift, you are expected to be join the live work session, connected to the JerseySTEM email and Slack system.

Time Commitment

• 20 Hours weekly
• Depending on the team you join, shifts are either (9:30am-1:30pm EST), afternoon (12pm-4pm EST) or evening (3pm-7pm EST) or (6pm-10pm EST) shift. Exceptions apply to accommodate job interviews.
• Minimum One month. Agreement renewed month to month per mutual agreement

Qualifications

• A college degree or a Master's degree in a relevant discipline
• Willingness to learn and work on given projects without continuous supervision
• Your academic background should be related to the department function
• Should be comfortable working in a ‘virtual organization’ with digital tools (G-Suite, Slack, Jira, salesforce)
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
