Software QA Engineer

This is a remote position.

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Software QA Engineer with 3–4 years of experience, who has strong expertise in manual testing along with a good understanding of automation tools and practices. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting in-depth manual testing of web and mobile applications while contributing to test automation wherever applicable. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that our products meet the highest standards of quality and performance.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive manual testing of web, mobile, and API-based applications.
  • Write, review, and maintain detailed test cases, test plans, and bug reports.
  • Ensure thorough testing coverage through functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing.
  • Collaborate with developers, product managers, and designers to understand features and technical implementations.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to gather requirements, clarify expectations, and provide test updates or reports.
  • Support automation efforts by identifying test cases suitable for automation and contributing to test script development.
  • Log and track bugs in tools like JIRA and participate in Agile ceremonies such as stand-ups and sprint planning.
  • Ensure releases are stable, reliable, and meet end-user expectations across platforms and environments

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3–4 years of hands-on experience in manual testing of web/mobile applications.
  • Strong understanding of software testing concepts, SDLC/STLC, and defect lifecycle.
  • Good working knowledge of test automation tools like Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
  • Basic scripting experience in Java, Python, or JavaScript is a plus.
  • Experience with API testing tools like Postman or REST Assured.
  • Good understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile teams.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Git version control.
  • Familiarity with test management tools like TestRail, Zephyr, or similar.
  • Strong communication skills, especially in client-facing interactions.
  • Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
