We are seeking an experienced and strategic Group Head of Accounting to lead our global accounting operations across multiple jurisdictions. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing the full spectrum of accounting activities—including full accounting cycle. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal company policies and procedures, drive process excellence, and provide strong leadership across a geographically dispersed team. What You'll Do:

  • Lead and manage the Group Accounting function across 3+ jurisdictions (Cyprus, Poland, Spain, UK), covering all accounting areas: general ledger, intercompany, fixed assets, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, payroll accounting and employee expenses, etc.

  • Lead and optimize the P2P (Procure-to-Pay) processes across jurisdictions, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls.

  • Oversee accounts payable, vendor payments, and employee expense management with a focus on process automation and standardization.

  • Collaborate with procurement, finance, and tech teams to improve systems and tools that support P2P workflows.

  • Oversee the bank payments process, ensuring strong internal controls and timely execution of vendor and other payments; ensure maintaining accurate vendor master data.

  • Manage intercompany elimination, intercompany invoicing and consolidation processes.

  • Ensure that all accounting supporting documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant; collaborate closely with the tax team to support reporting and audit readiness.

  • Develop and maintain strong internal controls. Own and drive the documentation of all accounting processes, controls, and workflows, ensuring consistency, clarity, and compliance across the group.

  • Own the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate consolidated financial reporting.

  • Liaise with external and internal auditors across all operating countries.

  • Support with local tax, regulatory, and statutory requirements.

  • Lead finance system improvements, ensuring scalable and efficient accounting operations.

  • Partner with HR, Legal and other finance teams to support strategic initiatives and transactions, contribute to the company wide projects. 

  • Build and lead a high-performing international accounting team, supporting development and engagement.

What skills and experience are important for this role

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA, ACCA, or equivalent qualification is a plus.

  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles in an international environment.

  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and experience with local GAAPs is a plus (Polish, Spain, UK, Cyprus).

  • Proven experience managing the full accounting cycle in a multi-entity, multi-currency group.

  • Hands-on experience overseeing accounts payable, bank payments, and employee expense processes.

  • Proven track record of optimizing and automating P2P processes, ideally using ERP systems (e.g. NetSuite, SAP, Workday).

  • Strong systems knowledge, ideally with ERP platforms such as Workday, SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite.

  • Strong knowledge of Excel, BI tools.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to work across functions and regions.

  • Fluent in English; other languages are a plus.
