Senior Specialist, Heart Failure Medical Science Liaison

How you will make an impact: As a Senior Specialist, Heart Failure Medical Science Liaison, you lead the comprehensive education and training on heart failure management, equipping physicians, clinicians, and patients with best practices for remote HF programs in clinical and commercial settings. Key responsibilities include:

  • Field Heart Failure Management Education and Training including comprehensive training and proctoring of seamlessly integrating remote Clinical Management and care management services with the in-office practice and physician and clinician training to ensure delivery of best practice medicine, per clinical protocols, for proactive medication management of study patients (e.g., adherence to treatment guidelines) (support MD).
  • Coordinating one-on-one training sessions, in-service education programs in the hospital environment, and regional/national group educational events
  • Providing medical staff with clinical instructions to support the full continuum of patient care
  • On-site education activities related to IHFM devices and related procedures.
  • Cultivating close relationships with strategic business partners, including all training centers and opinion leaders.
  • Development of Best Practice Training Material: Assume a leadership role in formulating strategies that delineate effective approaches and workflow optimization for care management service delivery, aimed at assisting and supporting clinics in their endeavors to start, build, expand and scale their HF practices.
  • Becoming a Cordella Product super user of the Patient Management Portal, Patient App, and the surrounding ecosystem of supporting software tools and systems.
  • Developing HCP- and patient-directed materials to support strategic business plan in collaboration with clinical development and marketing
  • As product super users, support establishment of commercial team skills and experience as needed to translate product knowledge to expanding commercial field team
  • Collaborating with product development teams to provide feedback on device iterations and new device development
  • Field Clinical Trial Enrollment and Engagement: Support clinical operations/affairs teams with trial site coordination, including patient enrollment, engagement with clinical trial staff, and trial related HF management training duties. Work with heart failure teams to guide patient management and ensure successful patient and site engagement by fostering a collaborative and educational environment.
  • Developing new and existing relationships with HCPs and study sites through regular outreach and education activities, site/study startup activities, referring HCP visits, product demonstration and conference participation within the clinical research
  • Providing technical expertise on devices/protocols and on-site support for patient selection, screening, imaging, Heart Team concept and clinical data across BU
  • Throughout clinical investigations, provide physicians and medical staff with required follow-up support to ensure continuity of education and technical support related to all aspects of clinical research
  • Developing and continuously improve training curriculum, training materials and training tools, based on clinical trial experience
  • Defining areas of opportunity along the Heart Team referral pathway to maximize their patient access to key clinical trials
  • Identifying restrictions to patient access within a region’s geography.
  • Evaluating and identifying creative sources and solutions that can help inform and influence the strategic business plan for patient outreach initiatives (e.g., recruitment events) for the chronic heart failure patient along the clinical trial continuum in collaboration with stakeholders (e.g., physicians, research coordinators).
  • Establishing an understanding of referral dynamics and how patient access may be restricted or delayed within the clinical trial pathway

What you'll need (Required):

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field AND 5 years of experience OR Master's Degree in related field AND 3 years of experience
  • Advanced degree in nursing, science or other related medical field (DNP, MD, DO, PhD, MSN or equivalent healthcare professional degree) along with relevant clinical experience
  • Ability to travel up to 75% (domestically and/or globally)

Aligning our overall business objectives with performance, we offer competitive salaries, performance-based incentives, and a wide variety of benefits programs to address the diverse individual needs of our employees and their families. The base pay range for this position is $131,000 to $186,000 (highly experienced). The pay for the successful candidate will depend on various factors (e.g., geographic location, qualifications, education, prior experience).
