Role Overview: Motive is seeking a skilled Installation Specialist to join our team. In this hands-on role, you’ll be responsible for the installation and servicing of telematics hardware across a range of customer vehicles and assets. You’ll play a key role in ensuring a seamless customer experience, maintaining high standards of workmanship, and supporting strategic deployment projects. This position combines technical expertise, customer-facing responsibilities, and on-the-ground project coordination – ideal for those passionate about using technology to drive operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation and Support: Perform installations of Motive’s product suite – including vehicle gateways, AI dashcams, and accessories – either independently or alongside third-party engineers, across a variety of fleet vehicles and asset types.

  • Customer Engagement: Act as the primary on-site representative for customer deployments, supporting pilots and trials, managing RMAs, and delivering training directly to fleet teams.

  • Quality Assurance: Conduct on-site quality reviews of third-party installations and audit installation documentation to ensure alignment with Motive standards and industry best practices.

  • Technical Feedback Loop: Partner with Motive’s Field Engineering team to share learnings from the field and contribute insights toward future product and process improvements.

  • Documentation: Develop bespoke installation guides for unique customer requirements or specialised vehicle configurations to streamline future installations.

  • Remote Support: Provide remote guidance and troubleshooting to installation partners and customers when needed. Issue Escalation: Own the resolution process for escalated technical concerns, ensuring timely follow-up and customer satisfaction.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience installing telematics, IoT devices, or aftermarket vehicle electronics at scale.

  • Strong technical background and comfort managing complex or custom installation scenarios.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to train and support end users effectively.

  • Willingness to travel regularly within the UK (minimum 50% travel) to support deployments, audits, and installations.

  • A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset, with a drive to innovate and improve existing processes.

  • Multilingual fluency or proficiency is preferred, especially in languages commonly used across UK fleets and transport operations.

Qualifications:

  • Significant hands-on experience in vehicle electronics installation, service, or repair.

  • Sound understanding of vehicle electrical systems, with the ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams.

  • Full UK driving licence with a clean driving record.

  • Physically capable of lifting equipment (up to 23kg), climbing ladders, and working in tight spaces as required.

Creating a diverse and inclusive workplace is one of Motive’s core values. We are an equal opportunity employer and welcome people of different backgrounds, experiences, abilities and perspectives.
